We really enjoyed our 10 day stay at the Meliton. The entire place is very clean and the staff were very friendly and professional. The facilities are generally very good but the rooms will need updating in the next few years. The bathrooms are modern and there’s plenty of towels. There’s a hairdryer and small fridge in the room and a large wardrobe along with tables for you luggage. There are two lovely pools including a quiet one which is only about 1m deep with tiled steps in/out. The larger, deeper pool is busier as it’s closer to the bar and restaurant. Access is by a ladder but there’s a corner with jets to massage your lower back. The sun beds are comfortable and there’s one parasol to every two sun beds. You can also relax on your balcony which has plastic chairs and a table. The size of the hotel is perfect. Not to big and not too small. The week is split into three. There’s a Greek night with professional dancers and audience participation, a karaoke night and a movie night (expect Mama Mia or something like that). The food was good and home cooked by the hard working chef. There’s something different every night with a soup, salads, bread, chips, pasta and at least three meat options. Not everything was to our choice but we never went hungry. The restaurant is busiest when it first opens of an evening. Breakfast has cereals, yoghurts, fruit, breads, eggs, meats… Lunch tends to be lighter but again, there’s something for everyone. There’s a small shop selling cigarettes, snacks, alcohol, sun cream, souvenirs etc. The hotel is located down a winding road with farm fields on every side. There are olive orchards, lettuce and other vegetables growing. This means there’s lots of wildlife including birds, insects, frogs and lizards as well as the usual stray cats. There’s a lovely traditional Greek taverna at the end of the road and up the hill into Theologos. There’s are ancient ruins that you can visit and a little further up there are lovely views over the farmer’s fields. Along the main strip (about 30mins walk) there’s other hotels, holiday supermarkets, places to eat and drink and two potteries making (and selling) ceramics that you can look around. There’s a petrol station at the end of the road who serve your petrol. I really liked Theologos beach which is pebbles and not as calm as the west of the island but it’s calm enough to swim in. It’s perfect for kite boarding. There’s a bus from the hotel to the beach. You’re about a mile away from the local power station and you can see the tall, red and white chimneys from the hotel and the overhead power lines. But there’s no noise or smell. You can also see the airplanes taking off. The location is great for the airport and for getting around the island in your hire car. Getting to the old town takes about 45mins by bus and cost about €3. Really simple, drivers speak English and stops are announced. The bus can get busy though. I would highly recommend the Meliton.

The hotel wasn't bad. We were welcomed at reception and shown to our room, which was 1st of all ok but small. Then was upgraded to a bigger room with bunk beds. The bunk beds needed to be made more safe if kids were to stay in the room, but other than that, it was another clothes storage space for us. The shower leaked at the Base of the shower. No mains plug socket by the bed . Food was a huge issue at the Meliton with breakfast to start with very limited. The rotation of eggs for breakfast was pretty bad with fried eggs which was edible just and the boiled eggs with toast and beans was about all i had for breakfast over 10 days. The scrambled eggs which were served on another day were just like wet stodge and the omelette was like a rubber doorstop, along with hotdogs from a jar, mixed with fried onion passed off as sausage wasn't appealing, with the bacon that looked like it could snap as soon as you put the fork on it. Food not covered from the flies which it should of as it was buffet style. The staff for breakfast and lunch clearing up were fantastic, (Panos at the bar and Debbie taking empty plates or some not so empty plates. They worked very hard and were a pleasure to talk to and know thank you) Wasted talent in a hotel that could do a lot better. Lunch was limited in my opinion as most of the options like fish and chicken, spaghetti bolognase, spaghetti carbonarra, was pretty tasteless like their potatoes. On the few occasions chips were done for lunch, it was worth having with some of the salad. Nice pool area, very peaceful. Pool table, table tennis table if you fancy a couple of games. The hotel is situated quite some distance from many of the off site amenities like the beach, and the decent restaurants, Rhodes town which is a 50 minute bus ride away, The evening buffet meal was again lacking in choice and flavour (thank god for some restaurants with the help from friends we met and salad!) The evening staff were quite miserable apart from young Michael behind the bar who was very friendly. The drinks were watered down, apart from the ouzo. Some of the hotel restaurants take on traditional Greek cuisine was appalling like the so called moussaka which had no substance to it. The entertainment in the evenings like a Greek night was ok, karaoke that wasn't too bad. Film night on Sunday, mamma mia, you could forget it. The hotel to sum up was nice hotel with clean rooms, but need a fair bit of work in certain places. A bit to far away from some very good restaurants and places to visit and see. The hotel restaurant itself needs a total menu overhaul and proper Greek and English food not to cater just for Europeans. It needs to be cooked fresh like the tavernas.

This is highly recommended hotel if you are looking for peace and harmony in the beautiful countryside. You'll need to rent car or motorcycle if you would like to explore surroundings. They will provide with full service as described on booking.com and you could relax and feel like at home. It's a good value for money and quite popular hotel among people and I booked 16 days about 4 months before i arrived at Meliton Hotel. I checked few times availability and all July dates was fully booked. It was second time when I was here. After it's just 10 minutes driving distance from airport and taxi price is starting from 16-23€ one way but bus ticket will cost you less than 3€ but you should find bus timetable. In the meantime you can rent scooter from airport and go with the flow and enjoy freedom! Overall experience: Very kind and helpful people. Check in and check out was very quick and rooms was clean and spotless. All toiletries was provided and missing ones was topped up later. Also bed was large and comfy. Air-conditioning was simply brilliant and they installed truly powerful aircondioner in my room. Swimming pools are large enough and they do a good job to keep them clean at all times. I enjoyed my time here very much and felt like at home. Some guests can be noisy but they don't try to distract people but it's interesting to watch them talking to each other and such lovely interactions makes this hotel alive. You will see a lot of cats here. Meals: It's 3 times a day and you can expect to receive locally resourced food from gardens. Fresh food every day. They will cook authentic and delicious Greek food and it would cost separately more elsewhere. Menu is limited but absolutely acceptable for the price overall. Personally I expressed acknowledgement and compliments to the chef. I heard same from few hotel guests too. Sure thing, there is a little shop where most important products are available for sale. You won't find many shops around and shopping should be well planned if you wish to buy more. The Best advice from me is to book day trip by ferry from Rhodes port to Marmaris, Turkey and that's very interesting shopping experience. However Meliton Hotel will provide full information about available tours and transport. Honestly I would return back here third time because I enjoyed quality food, service, peace and happiness. This was main reason why I returned here second time and feel grateful for everything I received from Meliton Hotel.

We really enjoyed our 10 day stay at the Meliton.

The entire place is very clean and the staff were very friendly and professional.

Another fantastic trip to the Meliton in October. We went away to celebrate my daughters birthday on 14th and can safely say it will be one she will remember for a long time.

I book with this hotel directly myself each time we visit Rhodes. I started the process for this one with less than 6 weeks to the holiday. I informed the Hotel of our dates and they gladly gave the information, even putting in little extras for my daughter's birthday. They were brilliant from start to finish, even when we had some last minute questions.

We booked 2 superior rooms which were located on the ground floor. Both rooms were just what we required for our party of five.

Dimitris and Katerina are always so friendly and helpful and make you feel like part of the family. They gave my daughter some birthday champagne and asked the chef to bake her a cake, which was the best cake I've tasted in a long time. It was so special and she loved it.

The food selection has been mentioned a lot reviews, I didn't have any issues with the food or times of service as I do like to take the family to explore the island. The food is a selection which includes a greek option, pasta and chips etc which you serve yourself what you like. The times of this are given to you upon arrival which I find useful to keep as a guide.

The bar staff Mike and Mike are super friendly and you can have a nice laugh and joke with them. They make you feel like they have known you for a long time and easily put the most shy person in our group at ease.

Sadrine and Danea the reception staff are so extremely helpful.. I managed to accidently break shower head one evening and Sadrine got this fixed for me whilst I was have Dinner. Sadrine also decorated a table on my daughter birthday and took photos for us as her dad could not be with us due to work commitment. We phoned him so he could be part of it and Sadrine kindly offered to take some photo and sent them to me so we could print them off.

Danea helped me to sort laundry out (is charged as extra). The bag was taken and then given back when all finished.

Again these two make you feel like you have known them for a long time. The best staff to welcome you as they are beautiful people inside and out and mothing is to much trouble.

I enjoyed the entertainment especially the Greek dancing night. and it's nice to get involved with it. The nightime bar staff (Mike and Debbie) try and get you to join in. Katrina does a dance which is a joy to watch. It great to see and they truly look like they enjoy it.

Only downside to this holiday was that it had to come to an end but Dimitris did give us a Greek saying that is certainly helping us until we arrive again in July.

All in all another fantastic trip at our home away from home and I thank the whole staff for making it this way. You are...
