I don't usually post negative reviews, but on this occasion, our stay was so bad at this hotel, that I felt the need to write this. We stayed at the Grand Lagonissi for 3 nights for a family wedding. Our room was a deluxe beach front bungalow, which by the way, looks fine on their website, but is not a reflection of the actual reality. |The property is extremely dated with non-functional facilities. 3 of our 4 sockets didn't work and we there were no USB wall chargers. |From the moment we entered the room we noticed a disgusting musty and damp smell. Immediately you could see that the room was filthy with dust and cobwebs everywhere. The lampshades were covered in dust and the table tops sticky. The grass outside in the so called 'garden area' was dirty and unkempt. |The bathroom was even worse than the room, with a disctinct sulphur type smell coming from the toilet area. Broken tiles and paint peeling off were an added bonus. Things only got worse when we realised the towels had red ants crawling through them.|On the first night we got back to our room following a wedding function only to find 12-15 mosquitoes on our ceiling. We called housekeeping who came and sprayed bug spray everywhere including the bed! We then asked them to clear up the dead bugs and change the bedding as my sister is allergic and has asthma and they refused! We ended up sleeping on the sofa that night. |The next morning we waited for new housekeeping staff and asked them to change the bedding which had dead mosquitoes on it - they were very rude and refused. The lady made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. On top of this the air con wasn't working properly. |The sofa and beds all have bed bugs. My sister and I have been bitten all over our bodies and have been to see the Dr since we got back home to get some treatment as the bites are so painful.|Room service was also shambolic. We ordered some coffee to the room which took over 90 minutes to arrive. When we came back later that night the dirty cups were still there despite the turn-down service. When I called to complain, I was rudely told that housekeeping don't clear dirty crockery and it was our responsibility to call room service for collection. |The beach front bungalows are not easily accessible from the main hotel. If you want to get anywhere you need to call a buggy which can take up to 20 minutes to arrive, sometimes not arriving at all. |All in all if I could give this property a minus rating, I would. Rude staff, dated amenities, filthy rooms and a total disregard for customer service. Never again would I visit here and I would strongly discourage others from visiting. The Lagonissi is far from...
Read moreUnacceptable and unprofessional. We went on Thursday 22/07 after our civil wedding to treat our company, 12 persons, to grand beach. I first spoke to a lady on the phone a few weeks ago for information, who told me that she did not need a reservation, just to call the previous day for information that we will go 12 persons. Point 1: I called, I conveyed all the information to the lady who picked up the phone and answered me rudely that we had not talked together and that she does not know me. And I replied that she does not need to know me, he is a representative of the hotel at the moment, the conclusion is that there is no organizational policy that is followed. Point 2: the hotel was chosen as a five star, but which did not resemble a five star. Declining facilities, old sunbeds, coffee awful like water, snacks seemingly untidy. It gaves you the impression of a hotel collapsing and closing. The waitresses who served on the beach were very kind and cheerful. Point 3: they kept asking us what time we would go up from the beach to the restaurant to arrange because the kitchen closes at 5.30. We informed that we would go 4.30pm for food and so it happened. The situation in the restaurant was tragic, the manager did not wear a mask for a moment, nor did he respect the fact that I was pregnant. The food came with a 2 hours delay, no one informed about any problem. We asked a waitress why such delay occured and she answered ironically that "you have ordered from the person in charge? you will eat in two hours". Then we ordered a wine from the same girl and she replied that she would call the person in charge, she did not call him or he never came, unknown. At 6.30pm we started eating, the food was conventional, from the hot cheese the small bread pies were missing, they did not say a word, we asked them why they were missing and they said sorry. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the waiter and asked the person in charge to complain, who was walking around the place but never came to us.In total we paid € 600 for services that do not cost even € 100. They did not even have the meticulousness to treat something to the pile of mistakes that fell. Our company suffered and we were unhappy on such an important day. We have sent emails with complaints to the headquarters and we have not received a response yet a week later. Real thieves! Go somewhere else but not to grand resort lagonisi. Very poor quality, they dont...
Read moreNot up to standards. To keep it simple, the beach is not as glorious as someone would expect for this price range.
We went there on a weekday and it was almost empty (on the more exclusive side). There was no one to guide to our lounges. We waited till someone showed up. A young polite lady took us to our lounges after 10 min. When I asked her for towels (which they were offering last year) she said that due to Covid-19 they were not to doing that this year. It surprised me so I wondered... weren’t they washing the towels last year? She said that the manager said this is the policy for this year. I told her that there was no announcement for this change, and we have not brought our own. Then after another 10 min she brought us some. For 80 euro per umbrella this is something that would be expected.
I asked for the menu. Again, due to Covid-19 they did not have menu this year so she would orally tell us what’s on the menu. In many restaurants they have printouts that cost a couple of cents and you can throw them away after use. Alternatively, a plastic menu that can be easily disinfected would be also an option. But in Grand Beach Lagonissi, you have to memorize the menu while the waiter is saying out loud. Two bottles of plastic water were offered but no plastic cups to drink from. (due to Covid-19 ?).
There was no disinfectant in the lounges, or in the toilets. Perhaps there was one at the bar but it was not at common sight. Several of the staff working in the area were not wearing masks and the waitress did not wear gloves when she brought our order. The toilets were not well maintained and seemed like they were long past their glory days.
It seems that instead of increasing their offerings to attract more people on this empty beach, they are cutting costs from everywhere and blaming the Covid situation. This is the definition of bad management.
Again, for 80 euros on a Thursday you would expect much more. We are not going to return, and we do not recommend the place. The manager is doing horrible job trying to keep this...
