Haus Platanos — Hotel in Municipality of Sithonia

Well, the place is indeed very close to the sea and we loved it. The apartments are small and the AC blows directly over the bed, so it's very annoying during the night. They also make a lot of noise. The landlord is not very hospitable and you don't find it easy to talk to him. The cooker was not working and we would have expected it to work. When we told the landlord, he brought us another cooker. Also, when we got there, we did not see any place outside where to wash away the sand and he came to us annoyed asking us to wash the feet before we get into the house. We started to look and we found it somewhere hidden, next to the house, but it was not intuitive at all and we did not go around the house to search for it as we thought that it might not be there. We would have liked to be told where we can find it when we got there and not rudely asked to wash our feet. That was not at all polite and it was not at all our intention to not do that. The sun chairs were included but we did not know that. We found this out when he came to us annoyed that we were trying to use ours....So, communication is not a very strong point for this landlord and the fact that he prefers to scold you rather than tell you politely from the very beginning about the options you have couldn't make me plan another...

Nightmare! Unacceptable behaviour- they went into our room 40minutes before our check out hour without permission or even asking us - our dogs were inside and one of them ran away! We were lucky we were just coming back from the village and we saw her running towards the street -30seconds later and my dog would have been hit by a car on the main road!!! They lied they didn’t open the door of our room! They don’t accept card payment or bank transfer because they want to avoid paying taxes! There is no daily housekeeping but they were in a hurry to clean our room at 10:30 when our check out was between 11:00-12:00. No apology, no explanation!!! Be careful...

We stayed at the newest part of the property. The room was very well designed, we loved the small patio that we had in front, the comfortable bed and the atmosphere - next to the beach. There was also Nespresso machine, so you can enjoy your coffee early morning at the table in front of your room. The beach bar was also very good. The only disappointment was that our room was cleaned just once for 6 nights! We used the system on the wall to request cleaning, but no one came, so we had to message the host to get the room finally cleaned. And just a recommendation - the owner could have been more kind and welcoming - it would have...
