Where do I start? |Ok, on arrival we were third in line to be attended to. There was 1 guy at reception dealing with a German couple. Whatever the issue was, it was taking an age to sort. Eventually the arrival in front of me was summoned to the desk only to be halted because the German couple returned. Again whatever the issue was took ages to sort out with the receptionist leaving with them for some reason. On return he then started to arrive the couple in front of us, only for the German couple to return a third time and demand the receptions attention. |Only then did a second receptionist arrive. This was after nearly 1 hr. |Just a quick note to which I will return later, whilst we were waiting, someone walked through reception and slipped on the tiles. Flat on her back.|After checking in we were then shown to our room. Down 2 flights of stairs and up another 2. No lift, no assistance, again reference to the floor coverings will be covered shortly. |On being shown to the room we discovered human hair on the bed cover, uneven floor to bathroom (rough edge (photo attached) which I stubbed my toe on numerous occasions, large dead bugs in the door frame (photo attached), bathroom floor had not been cleaned and during our short stay was not mopped at all.|So this was not the start to our holiday we expected.|We went for a beer to the hotel bar before we headed out for something to eat. Now I know and expect to encounter a few mosquitoes whilst in Greece, however 12 bites in the time it took me to drink 1 beer. no wonder no one else was in the bar.|Back to the tiles, all through the resort was tiles. Some of these were in such bad state of repair they crumpled when stood on. others were cracked and the rest were extremely slippy. In the room there is no shower curtain so water ends up on the floor turning it into an ice rink. most of the walkways are in poor condition.|Sitting by the pool I noticed lots of large flying insects, next to the dining area I managed to get a photo (attached). I thought it was a roach at first but not sure after closer inspection. Lots of these things flying around.|Now we get to the final straw. On our first time in the swimming pool I noticed an underwater lamp hanging loose away from the wall (photo attached). Approximately 2 feet of electrical cable was exposed. I reported this to the staff however on the day we left (3 days after I reported) this had not been attended to. |Another problem with the pool was some of the guests. I disagree with allowing children to run about naked in a public area but allowing naked babies in the pool is asking for trouble. Any mishap and the pool is closed.|The quality of food at breakfast was poor to mediocre at best. All processed meats and cheeses. Then the kids are allowed to run riot in the dinning area. On one occasion one ran straight into me causing me to spill coffee down my top.|I finally gave up and went to speak to the manager, this is when I ran into the TUI rep at reception. She sat and listened to my grievances and came around the complex taking photos as she went. |She was due for a meeting with the manager and invited me to voice my concerns.|The manager could not have been less concerned. He told me the electric current in the pool is 12 volt not 230... oh ok|Not interested in babies doing baby things in the pool|In the end all he said was what do I want.|After speaking to TUI we were moved to a 5 star accommodation for the remainder of our stay which I will review too.|As for this place if you have any health and safety concerns DO NOT STAY HERE. You will regret it.|One last note, even on leaving, we left at 15:00 they charged us room tax for that evening stating that they wouldn't have time to rent out the room. I didn't have the energy to argue, however the tax is a government tax not a hotel optional extra.|Please bear in mind once the manager responds the the TUI rep was present during the discussion. Many thanks to her for her...
Read moreFirst of all, we have bad experience from the start. After many hours of driving receptionist tells us that our reservation is for 2 adults and one 11 year old boy and our 2 year old son is not included. Our agency made a mistake to not include our 2 year old son in the reservation. At the time we made reservation, prices were the same with or without 2 year child, I have photo evidence for that. But, Nick the guy at the reception make us wait around 15 minutes just to check if we have to pay additional fees. We told him that price is the same, but he have to check again, the guy doesn't know the hotel prices. And he was just rude. After he saw that there is no difference and we don't have to pay additional fees, he give us room card and show us the room. Room location and room condition wasn't that we requested. We made reservation with a request that we would love to have a room with sea or pool view because we know from our family members and friends that only these rooms are renovated and give us an advice to ask for these rooms. When we saw that Nick give us room that is not renovated, very narrow, old, without enough day light and far away from pool and sea we asked for renovated room like we requested in our reservation. Nick rudely replied that our request is just a request and they don't have other available rooms and that's it. He doesn't say sorry, or apologise for not doing anything about our request made with our reservation 3 months before. On top of that he said that he gives the best rooms to clients that arrived that day early, before us. Checking time is after 15.00, we arrived at 14.30 and it's our fault that we haven't arrived earlier and our request doesn't matter at all. We didn't have any choice but to accept the room. So, our first day was disaster because of the receptionist. The thing's that we liked: hotel has a good concept, sea is close, food is good especially dinner, trees and flowers are great, cleaning is ok, guy's at the bar and restaurant are friendly and nice, sunbeds are good enough, prices for drinks are normal. The thing's that we don't liked: behaviour of the Receptionist (Nick) which was very bad and awful, sea is dirty when there are waves, someone stole my 11 year old son swimming shorts from drying hanger at the entrance of our room, restaurant doesn't have area with AC, there aren't enough parking places. My advice for anyone is please make sure to get renovated room and be prepared for not getting one, your request can be multiplied by zero. Because of that we will not likely return...
Read moreThe hotel is beautiful. There are big rooms and small rooms. First we got a big room called PROMO room. It was on the first floor. It has no balcony at all. Maybe that is better for couples but with a child it is not possible because children go to bed early and you and your partner feel like in a prison. So, we asked for another room. It was solved the next day. We got a room no.409 wich is on the ground floor in the garden. The rooms 406, 407, 408, 409, 500, 5001 are great for children because you can let them play on the grass in fron of the rooms. That are not new renovated rooms but very nice rooms. There are new rooms accross the garden. I hace not seen them inside but they have glass from the bottom to the top and similar to these rooms. Reception persons are great with good english. Restaurants chief and other persons there are so kind that I cannot describe. All recommendations for their restaurant. They have baby chairs that is very good. Half Board is very rich with meals, sapads, fruits and other. Too bad they do not have lunch as Full Board offer. But you can eat a la carte menu for lunch. Pool bar is ok. The pool is big, not busy, always have plenty of space there. There is a small one and a big one with I think 1.7m depth the largest. They have a children playground with lot of amusement there so if it is sunny they can play there in the shades. The beach has natural shades. The sunbeds are 6 eur. That is the only thing I dont like. My suggestion it is better it is free for the guests of the hotel and make my price for arrangement 50 euros more. It is nicer that way. The beach has sand and rocks and grass. I am not delighted too much. But you can always go 12km to Lagomandra beach in shades or other beaches before. Nikiti is 3km away and you can go each evening there and walk with kids or just have an ice cream. The parking spaces in the hotel is poor so you need to park in the street not inside the complex. But there is no space to be wider. It is a minus. And the big problem after floods in June here are mosquitos. There are a lot of them and you can put Autan or Fenistil gel but no help. You will be all eaten by them. They have music live one day per week and some dances. At the end we paid the tax for each person around 15 eur. But all in all this was a great choice for us and we are sure we will come the next year if they can promise...
