This is a story of one unfortunately very RASIST treatment. My family and I have travelled all over the world and have stayed in many 5* Star Hotels. We have never felt so unwanted and even harassed in a luxury resort. This summer my family have decided to return to this beautiful place in order to enjoy the holiday all together and celebrate my 1st year wedding anniversary. Last year my parents have enjoyed the stay at this same resort. They have rented an expensive villa and a very expensive Royal Cabana with beautiful sun beds and tables for lunch. They were playing the music the whole vacation, drinking rose wine and enjoying their stay.
This year we have booked 2 villas and a cabana for full 9 days of vacation. Happy and uplifted we arrive to the cabana to sunbath and swim in the sea, drink wine and listen to the music. Unfortunately, when we have put the lounge music at a minimum volume just to e you our wine, which we clearly knew that we were allowed to do so, the manager came to us and asked to put it lower. He had claimed that the guests next to us came here to listen to birds and the sea. Honestly, the music was very low that I could hear the lady chucking her instagram in the next cabana 15 meters away from us. But obviously we have put it down a little bit. The next day, on the other side of our cabana the new guests from Bulgaria have arrived. They didn't really hear the music either, since physically it is impossible. So when we were napping inside the cabana while listening to Hotel Costes lounge music, he ran towards my father, husband and brother, screaming agressivly "switch it off now", my husband has replied kindly "sir, I'm sorry if something is bothering you but I don't think you could even hear this 15 meters away". The gentlemen started screaming "switch it off now! I will call the management." Then he has stepped forward and screamed at my husband saying "are you Russian?" To which my husband replied "no, I'm Spanish. (Since my parents and I are russian) he then told this gentlemen "why? Do you have a problem with nationality?". What does that have to do with anything.
The waiters of the hotel were in shock. The music of the bar on the beach sounds loader than ours was. So the manager came to us and said switch it off. I have personally asked her whether it was a policy of the hotel or a law in Greece to switch of the music? She said that it was not written anywhere. So According to the law of Greek coast I was allowed to listen to music till 50dcb.so I carried on playing my music really low. Later the hotel has told us that we are not allowed to listen to anything. My question is why is it okay to priorities certain nationalities in the hotel. We are in shock and planing to leave the hotel shortly and never come back to this...
Read moreOur stay at The Danai was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of refined elegance and warm hospitality that made us feel like we had entered a private paradise.
The property itself is stunning—tucked away on a lush hillside with breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. The design of the resort blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings, offering both luxury and tranquility in equal measure. Every detail, from the immaculately manicured gardens to the artfully designed interiors, speaks to a deep sense of care and craftsmanship.
What truly set The Danai apart, however, was the impeccable service. The staff was incredibly attentive, anticipating our every need without being intrusive. Whether it was arranging a private dinner on the beach, suggesting the perfect wine from their extensive cellar, or simply offering a friendly smile, they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
Our suite was a masterpiece of understated luxury—spacious, impeccably clean, and with a view that took our breath away every morning. The bed was so comfortable it felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the amenities were top-notch, including everything one could desire for a truly indulgent getaway.
Dining at The Danai is an experience in itself. Every meal was a feast for the senses, with dishes that artfully combined local flavors with international flair. We particularly enjoyed the beachfront restaurant, where we savored fresh seafood while watching the sunset over the sparkling waters.
The resort offers a variety of experiences to enrich your stay, from the luxurious spa treatments to private excursions exploring the beauty of Halkidiki. We left feeling rejuvenated and deeply relaxed, with memories that will stay with us forever.
The Danai is more than just a luxury hotel—it’s a destination where time seems to slow down, allowing you to fully savor life’s most beautiful moments. We cannot recommend it highly enough and are already dreaming of our return.

Read moreIn this world, of seemingly constant conflict, it is rare indeed to find a heavenly retreat awayfrom it all, if only for a short time. ||Upon reaching the slow moving entrance gates of Danai we felt, rather nervously, that perhaps the angels were reviewing our suitability to enter paradise. Not to worry, we were admitted as we had been the year before, for our 50th wedding anniversary holiday when we were treated like royalty instead of ordinary down to earth people. This year was no exception.||We booked for the last 2 weeks in May and had wonderful weather every single day. The staff were their usual exceptional selves (are they the people who are admitted to heaven because they are always kind and attentive to everyone). Danai is a place that never rests upon its laurels. It is always improving. Hence, the gym had new state of the art equipment even though the previous equipment was fine. The spa had been completely redesigned and is magnificent. The grounds are immaculately maintained. Is it the grounds people or that this is actually how things are in heaven. I actually said to one of the owners at dinner (it's a family run resort) that if the world outside was run the way Danai is it would be a much better place. But sadly, the world outside is run by politicians. ||If you are looking for a relaxing holiday where all your needs are catered for, beautiful food is provided in three exceptional restaurants, a private beach immaculately cared for, where no sooner has your first foot stepped on the sand, than the ever helpful and polite beach staff are there to show you to your chosen sun lounger and behind you, elevated above the sand, is the wonderful beach bar with its friendly staff. There is also lots of equipment to enter on the sea with which we noticed parents' and children enjoy using as well as other adults.||In short (sorry if this review was verbose), Danai does everything to ensure you have a wonderful time. We are looking forward to going...
