During times turbulent and uncertain, I keep thinking back to my happy place as a calming anchor- The Good Life Greece.
Nestled on a hill overlooking farmland, sheep, and the deep blue Aegean, we were content to pass the time slowly. Slow, meandering walks through the little town of Poseidonia. Slow rises from a plush bed in the morning, with a delicious espresso machine to coax us awake. And just that slow, delicious way of living when you eat fresh food (thanks for the wine night + dinner!) and throw a "kalimera" to the neighbors as they pick olives from their tree.
But for those adventurous, the main hub of Ermpouli offers restaurants, shopping, and incomparable views just a quick drive away. You get a balance of island life by staying at The Good Life that those in my party are still discussing years later.
And not to even speak of the service (excellent, with even better conversations!) or the delightful accomodations. I truly hope I can steal my family and friends away for another escape to this place that seems to slow...
Read moreMy family (4 adults and 2 children) just got back from a week at the "Friendship" villa at the Good Life and it was truly magical stay for all of us. Nick and Elsabeth were the most welcoming and charming hosts, making us feel at home right away. The view from the veranda is so peaceful, looking out over the olive trees to the sea. The beaches are all within 7-10 minutes walk and there are lovely bars and restaurants all around as well, although you feel quite secluded from everything up on the hill. I also have to comment on the design of the villas, because I was really impressed with the combination of rustic and modern elements that they have so beautifully woven together. All in all, it is the perfect get away for couples...
¡Una experiencia que recordaremos por mucho tiempo!.||||||More than just a hotel, this was a beautiful experience on the island of Syros. The place is gorgeous, with a perfect room with all de commodities, and a window with the most amazing view of the sea from certain altitude. Bed is excellent and very cozy. Bathroom is not big but comfortable enough, and the shower is great. It has a kitchen and small dinning area well equipped and functional.||A special mention to the owners, who are lovely people that hosted us in the best possible way. Nick came to pick-us up at the port and told us a lot of useful facts of the island during our trip to the place (distance is about 10 kilometers from the port). He and his wife Elsbeth were always kind and helpful, very interesting persons to talk to, and they even invite us and other people staying there to have lunch with friends one of the days. We are grateful for this stunning experience that we will remember for...
