Hesperia Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Western Samos

My family & I stayed at the Hesperia Hotel for 2 weeks & found it to be a serene, commodious & very positive experience. The accommodation was very comfortable with all the necessary requirements for a holiday apartment. The hotel is situated in a quieter part of town which suited us giving us excellent night's sleep & an 'away from the bustle' feeling (though close enough to walk to the main town shops / the port / restaurants etc - a car is not a necessity if you are reasonably ambulant). Evangellia, who runs the reception, was absolutely awesome in every way. Prior to our departure from Australia, Evangellia emailed to check on our final arrangements, she organised our check-in in a very friendly, relaxed yet efficient manner, & organised all our needs from washing / car rental / subsequent bookings / taxi etc. Additionally, Evangellia was a mine of information on all local knowledge and Greek information in general. Our Greek is limited to greetings & the odd phrase only, so Evangellia was kind enough to speak to us in English, & upon our request, taught us some Greek whenever possible. Every day when Evangellia came & went off duty she greeted / farewelled us & literally was one of the kindest, most considerate people we have ever met. She always had a bright smile, a helpful piece of information & a big, welcoming, friendly heart & gentle, caring nature. We looked forward to seeing her every day as she is the nicest person to have a chat or laugh with! A pure gem of a lady & fabulous representative for The Hesperia & for Greece. The hotel is situated right across from the beach which was great for afternoon swims & watching / listening to the sea from our balcony. All the staff were friendly, hospitable, honest & reliable. It was our first trip to Samos and we were a bit overwhelmed by all the possibilities when we started booking. Thankfully Hesperia Hotel kind of dropped into our laps and made our choice that much easier. We stayed here for 7 nights, rented out a car at the airport and just drove around the island for the better part of our vacation. The location seems ideal for just that - want to enjoy the trendy Northern beaches? Drive to Tsabou, Tsamadou, Lemonakia or Kokkari. Want to visit the picturesque villages? Ampelos, Manolates and Vourliotes are nearby. Want some southern comfort? Ormos, Kampos and Marathokampos are about a 10-15 km wonderful drive away. And you can't go wrong with a hike to Mikro and Megalo Seitani, just a couple of miles to the West - a must visit!||||The apartments are great and have everything one could possible ask for. Ours was very spacious (bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom and two smaller balconies), nicely furnished and made us feel like home away from home. So we got up early, made us some breakfast and off we went only to return for late supper (or for bed even). We were also pleasantly surprised that our sheets and towels were changed every two days - the latter neatly arranged, just like in the photos. :)||||Also, extra commendation to Efterpi, who took the time to answer all of our (silly and less silly) questions (some even prior to our arrival), helped us with various requests - all of which made our stay even more enjoyable. We absolutely loved her welcome upon our arrival: cool water (who doesn't need that after going non-stop in that heat for half a day?) and even a traditional sweet dessert. We came here as a part of our greek islands tour and were extremely happy. Its a great hotel that feels more like home than a hotel. We were welcomed by the best staff I have ever seen in years. She was very friendly and cheerful. She helped us a great deal about where to go what to see etc. |Our room was amazing. Decoration is chic and comfortable. We had an amazing terrace with both sea and mountain views. We had a small kitchenette with everything you can need during a couple of days visit. Only downside was the bathroom cause its a bit tiny but I guess it's like that in all islands. We squeezed ourselved inside the shower to fit in. |Location is simply perfect. There is a pebble beach right across and the market is like 2 mins away. Karlovasi center is 5 mins away. Its the perfect spot if you want to be close to the city but also want to have some peace and quiet.
