Pension Balos — Hotel in Municipality of Western Samos

First time in Samos and Balos Beach, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect until we started seeing the bays from the top of the mountain and reached the beach and the lodge. This is paradise, and the family who owns the pension is just the nicest hosts: Daphne, Penelope and Kyriakos! ||This modest lodge is literally right at the beach (you can just walk out in your swimsuits). For those who are into simplicity and nature you will love this place surrounded with trees. The cats are also friendly and playful :)||The rooms include are very clean and include a mini fridge and an A/C. There is a shared kitchen if you are into fixing your own meal (we did fix some snacks and greek salad with the ingredients we bought from the market in the next village). And yes, the facilities are really clean!||The water is crystal clear and so refreshing that you cannot stop jumping in it (there is a small pier 20m away and it’s so much fun to jump and swim off of). You will also find people casually fishing at the pier in the early morning and afternoon, friendly chats are part of the deal if you’re into fishing.||There are not many options in terms of restaurants, but the food at the Pension Balos is probably what just you’re looking for if you like greek/Mediterranean food. When you are lodging in or near Balos Beach in the south of Samos, you should try out the family-run restaurant of the "Pension Balos"! Seated in the shade of giant tamarisks, your sea view is not disturbed by music or traffic: It is simply quiet.||As back in the old days, the owners ask you to check in the kitchen for yourself, what is being offered today: All traditional Greek dishes with fresh ingredients from their own garden. I loved their rice-stuffed peppers, egg plant and tomato combo as a tasty vegetarian option. Θετικά: Χαλαρό οικογενειακό και ευγενικό κλίμα. Τα δωμάτια δίπλα στην παραλία, οπότε μπορείς να κάνεις μια γρηγορη βουτια και το βράδυ να απολαύσεις ύπνο με δροσερο αεράκι. Καινούρια στρώματα και μαξιλάρια ύπνου Αρνητικά: Καθαριότητα, παροχές. Η ντουζιέρα και ο νιπτήρας ήταν βρωμικοι, μπήκαμε και τα σαπουνάκια μιας χρήσης ήταν ήδη χρησιμοποιημένα.τα παντζούρια και τα κουφώματα δεν έκλειναν σωστά και έπρεπε να σέρνουμε πέτρες για να τα κρατάμε ανοιχτά. Δεν είχαν σαμπουάν και αφρολουτρο. Μας άφησαν ένα πρωί έξω απ ρην πόρτα μια σακουλα για τα σκουπίδια και ένα χαρτί υγείας!!! Σκοινάκι και μανταλάκια για να απλώσεις ρούχα έπρεπε να ζητήσουμε και να το τοποθετήσουμε μόνοι μας. Το πρωινό το οποίο ήταν μέσα στην τιμή ήταν ένας καφές φιλτρου, 1 αυγό 2 φέτες παριζάκι, 5 ελιές, 2 φετες τομάτα 2 βουτηράκια και 2 βάζα με μαρμελάδα και μέλι (όχι καλής ποιότητας). Ήταν μέτριας ποιότητας τα υλικά. Σχέση ποιότητας/τιμής. Για τελευταία στιγμή θεωρήσαμε οκ τα 40€/βράδυ το δίκλινο (7-12 Αυγούστου) και για την χρήση που κάναμε (φεύγαμε στις 10 και γυρνούσαμε βράδυ για ύπνο), αλλά θα προτιμούσαμε να δίναμε 50 και χωρίς πρωινό και να ήταν πιο καθαρο και περιποιημένο.
