Galaxy Art Hotel — Hotel in Oreokastro Municipality

Hotel is placed in a quiet area (around 15 minutes ride, if GPS doesn't trick you) , parking is an easy to find.|This year I have pick this hotel (last year it was hotel Di Tania,also in Oreokastro) for sleepover on our way to Sithonia because of 2 person Jacuzzi that is on picture. I thought that superior rooms have it (because I have sent message to hotel via booking in which they have confirmed that all superior rooms have Jacuzzi like that one and see view). That is NOT the true. Superior rooms have Jacuzzi but for 1 person only and you can not see it on the photos (at least on booking.com that i had used). |So of course I made a complain and receptionist said it is a common misunderstanding situation they have, and gave us an upgrade from Superior room 205, to Suite 101.|Both rooms were nice but of cours suite is a little bit bigger, but without side view to the see that Superior rooms have. Here you can see a hotel garden only. Most important bed was very comfortable, room was clean, a Jacuzzi was for 2 but unfortunately it had its flows. Radio was working, but illumination NOT, also nozzles tends to spray like a water gun all over the bathroom even thoug they are under water, and most important water will constantly leak from under the tube and partially flud whole flour. It really is annoying.||Breakfast is pretty good in nicely decorated lobby. There are freshly baked salty and sweet beagles,pizzas...eggs on all 3 ways, fried beacon ( Ok orange and blueberry juices. The Galaxy is a pleasant enough place with a very economical price/value ratio. It is clean, modern, quiet and efficient with a good, basic breakfast offering. The rooms lacked full amenities: good power outlets but no safe, coffee service or shelf space in the bathroom. Its best feature is that it faces a daytime playground with a view to the distant sea and backs up to a very pleasant commercial street with a great choice of restaurants and bars. We slept well. ||||That said, I’m hoping Google took my review as a suggestion for improvement, as they did not publish my complaint about disastrous directions to find the Galaxy. No matter how we entered it, the usually reliable Google maps kept directing us to a seedy downtown Thessaloniki location with the same address as the actual location in Oreokastro. The hotel doesn’t help by using both “Art Hotel” and “Design Hotel” as their name. Moreover, reception seemed confused when we called for help, and the three locals we stopped were no better. Needless to say, by the time we got there, we were unhappy campers. Words are not enough to describe the kindness of the staff and the excellent conditions I was offered at Galaxy Art! For work reasons, I have to go to Thessaloniki once every 6 weeks, but staying at a hotel in the big city was an option 2 times...and never again! I found this place by chance. It is located a 20 minutes distance from Thessaloniki, in a beautiful small town, near a park, very close to the center. A big plus, there are parking places in front of the hotel (crowded in the afternoon, as people go to the park, but available in the evening). The main hall is spacious and warm, people at the reception are absolutely amazing! They do their very best to make the guests feel comfortable, the atmosphere is ”like home”. I always book the junior suite - very spacious, with balcony for smokers, large bathroom, bath robes, slippers, enough towels. In the morning, breakfast is served in the hall downstairs. There are fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, ham, cheese, olives, traditional cakes, yoghurt. There is a small side terrace, if you want a cigarette with your coffee :).Food is tasty and well cooked. For me, this hotel became a favorite and I will definitely stay...
