Martha's Haus Hotel — Hotel in Polygyros Municipality

This hotel is not a 4-star hotel, but hardly a 3-star.||We had a spacious family room on the ground floor. The room was ok, nothing luxurious, but with decent furniture, clean, the bathroom was in good condition and clean.||The hotel was understaffed, the same waiters worked in the bar, in the restaurant during breakfast, during dinner... However, staff was kind and helpful.||Food was below the average, both in terms of choice and quality. Most of the dishes were local, which I did not mind, but it was a problem to find something neutral and without spices that kids would like to eat. On several occasions, meat could not be chewed and some dishes had not so nice taste.||The rooms were not cleaned every day, covid was the excuse, which did not make sense... It was exactly due to covid that they should have been cleaned even more often. Sheets were changed after 5 days, which is not ok for a 4-star hotel.||The mini bar fridge in the room was not working ok, the water we put in it was just a bit cooler than the one kept outside, hardly at room temperature. After we complained, the hotel owner remarked that it was not a fridge, but a mini bar and that the drink should not be cold, but chilled...||Beach was ok, but I had seen much nicer beaches and the sea almost everywhere around Sithonia. Beds and umbrellas on the beach were not for free even for the hotel guests, so you should be prepared to pay for this additionally.||The children's playground was closed, again, due to the covid, which I think was a bad excuse for not having to maintain it. If the pool and dining area did not have any restrictions, why did the playground need to be closed...||The pool area had free-of-charge beds and some shade around. The pool was not perfectly clean and there was a big, loud group of guests who were diving and making a mess and there was no lifeguard at the pool or anyone from the hotel staff that would warn them about their behavior.||To summarize, do not expect a 4-star hotel. If you are looking for a clean place to sleep and nothing much beyond, then you may be satisfied with choosing this hotel. In my opinion, not worth the money and would not recommend it...

I regret not reading the reviews before booking this hotel. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. ROOMS: Two families with small children were given the worst possible rooms. The beds are hard and uncomfortable, we still have back pain. When I complained about the beds, the woman at the reception told me that I should have told her right away and that she would have helped me with my neck, but that we wouldn't get another room. My question is: How exactly would you help me with my neck? There are no mosquito nets, which adds to the discomfort of the rooms. The bathroom is old, with visible mold and a damaged bathtub. Unhygienic, especially for small children. The cleaning of the rooms was reduced to the occasional throwing out of the garbage. Our towels were changed only once after 5 days and that was at our request. The bed linen has not been changed not even once. We didn't have towels for the children. When we asked for them, we were told that they are not available for children. (Children don't bathe???)

FOOD: The food is almost the same every day, two main dishes, two side dishes and about 20 spicy spreads, not suitable for children. Dessert is the same almost every day, sweet bread with nuts or jam, the cheapest possible. The fruit was ok.

OUTDOOR: The beach is untidy, with large stones and grass in the water. The poll is ok, but it closes at 6PM. The children's playground is old and unsafe, without lighting in the evening, although it is open until 10PM. The only positive thing is the nice yard with an olive grove.

Even if you complain, it doesn't matter much, you won't get better service, as they usually say in response to a review. We definitely won't be...

For everyone coming to this place you should avoid... The owners are like actors, only smile when they see you coming and when taking your money. The only thing good about this place is the location... They have really bad way of taking care of the place, and not enough staff and very poorly paid. They hope that guest will give good tips so you don't complain. I worked for them and I can say without a dobut worst ever place to be working. The employees eat only leftover food... And not even hot. You have to ask for some fruit or salad. Never been given soup or something good when it's leftover. All the food from bfst or dinner is kept in plastic boxes and served again next dinner time nothing is being thrown. Especially salads rice, meat and fish. They just put the old food with new and mix it up. The food is usually sub-par the spices are too strong and mostly not that good even. The owner of hotel is the chef so you can imagine how he handles that. The most disgusting thing I have seen in my 10 years of working in hospitality. You work everyday and if you wanna go somewhere out to eat there no transport or anything good close. During my stay I found that the actual owner is the biggest problem. Every day shouting at his staff like they are animals, and if you take break during bfst time you cannot stay more then 20 min... This hotel is for ** maximum only because...
