Cook Art — Restaurant in Polygyros Municipality

This is by far one of the best locations to eat in Gerakini. The food tastes great, the portions are decently sized, and the atmosphere is amazing. Chef Manolis is always ready to go beyond and make you feel welcome, part of the family. He's very open minded and can accommodate a request from the customer (as long as it's a decent one). We've eaten here on many occasions, every time we were in Gerakini, and we were never disappointed. Recommended dishes: try the freshly baked focaccia, with oregano and olive oil, the grilled sea bream (dorada/dorade), the fish soup (made with fish fillet), the stuffed calamari or the grilled octopus. We entered the Cook Art restaurant by accident, escaping the storm and we did not even expect to discover such a gem. We ordered spaghetti four cheeses, a Greek salad, fish soup, moussaka, traditional salads and a frappe. All the dishes were delicious and very well presented and the service in the restaurant was very friendly. We were with two kids and they loved the playground. Λοιπόν, δε συνηθίζω να γράφω κακή κριτική αλλά σήμερα έγινα έξαλλη. Φτάσαμε στο μαγαζί, μπαίνουμε μέσα, περνάει από μπροστά μας ο σερβιτόρος (πρώτη φορά), λέω γεια σας δε λέει τίποτα. Ξαναπερνάει από μπροστά μας (δεύτερη φορά) δε μας κοιτάει καν. Εμείς όρθιοι να ψάχνουμε πού μπορούμε να καθίσουμε. Περνάει από μπροστά μας (τρίτη φορά) και τον ρωτάμε: εδώ μπορούμε να καθίσουμε; Μας λέει περιμένετε να ρωτήσω. Τον βλέπουμε δύο λεπτά αργότερα να σερβίρει τραπέζι και να μη μας δίνει σημασία. Ξαναρωτάω: εδώ τελικά μπορούμε; Όχι, λέει, είναι κράτηση. Λέω στον δεύτερο σερβιτόρο (που για να είμαι ειλικρινής αυτός μας είπε ένα γεια τουλάχιστον): επειδή είμαστε 10' εδώ, μπορείτε να μας πείτε πού μπορούμε να βολευτούμε κι εμείς; Ο κύριος πρώτα αμφισβήτησε και ειρωνεύτηκε το 10' που είπα και μετά μας έδειξε ένα τραπέζι 1x1 για να καθίσουμε τρία άτομα.... Ρωτήσαμε αν υπάρχει άλλη επιλογή, μας γύρισαν την πλάτη, πήγαν να βολέψουν μια παρέα έξι τουριστών και δε μας ξανακοίταξαν. Το ξένο βέβαια είναι πιο γλυκό μάλλον. Και αν ο ιδιοκτήτης είναι ένας μεγάλος κύριος που απλά καθόταν σε μία καρέκλα και μας έβλεπε όρθιους με το παιδί να περιμένουμε να μας κάνουν τη χάρη να μας μιλήσουν τότε πολύ κρίμα.
