Preveza Golden Beach Hotel — Hotel in Preveza Municipality

This hotel is owned by a lovely old couple who I can't help rooting for! They're really sweet but be prepared as they don't speak a word of English (which is fine, our British ignorance presumes everybody should!) so have a translator app at hand to check in, especially if you have paid online. ||The hotel facilities are vast; two pools (one children's) huge and very beautiful garden area, two pool bars, table tennis, swings, slide, many seating areas, indoor bar and the most beautiful private beach you ever did see with free sun loungers and unspoilt sands. (I have attached LOTS of photos) It's peaceful and safe, making it convenient for families but also people wishing to come and relax. ||The only downside is that there is very little to do externally from the hotel which is it would hugely benefit from an all inclusive approach. In my opinion, this option would completely turn the business around. Having said that, hotel does serve food (average breakfast is included in the price) to buy at certain times in the day and there is a taverna and a shop around half a mile in each direction for evenings out of you wish. ||The businesses in this beautiful area are struggling and it is a time of financial crisis for the Greeks. L'hotel è carino, pulito, con bella posizione, un po' decentrato, adatto a famiglie con bambini o a persone desiderose di calma e tranquillità .||Ma ..... ||- La gestione è affidata ad una coppia di anziani che parlano solo il greco e il tedesco. Comunicazione impossibile in caso di problemi, che apparentemente non amano gestire e con modi poco ortodossi..||- Il mattino a colazione (solo allora e per un paio d'ore !) è possibile comunicare in inglese con la nuora della coppia.||- Il primo giorno il wifi non funzionava . Dopo varie richieste , l'indomani è miracolosamente comparso. Però funziona a piani , quindi una volta oltrepassato il limite della terrazza /ristorante , addio !||- Per la prima volta in tre anni di vacanze in Grecia, il costo del soggiorno è stato preso dalla carta di credito, SBAGLIATO (a nostro sfavore), senza alcun preavviso e in nostra assenza, il giorno dopo il nostro arrivo. Se non avessimo ricevuto comunicazione via SMS dalla banca ce ne saremmo accorti soltanto un bel po' di tempo dopo il nostro rientro in Italia. Abbiamo dovuto faticare (telefonate a booking.com , conferma di cambio prenotazione con 2 settimane di anticipo, e-mail con data di riferimento , ecc.... ) per vedere riconosciuto il loro errore. ATTENZIONE !||- Avevamo prenotato due triple (6 adulti) 'de luxe' CON vista mare ..... All'arrivo ci sono state mostrate una piccola e buia a piano terra da cui il mare si doveva solo indovinare , ed un'altra al primo piano che di ' de luxe ' non aveva niente. Dopo le nostre recriminazioni (con risposta della coppia ovviamente in greco, poi in tedesco .....) e dopo aver telefonato alla nuora abbiamo finalmente avuto due camere più 'decenti' . ||•Non esistono camere 'de luxe' o quantomeno le nostre non corrispondevano alla descrizione/foto che compare su booking.com (25mq ? area soggiorno.... forse il balconcino con due sedie e un piccolo tavolino di plastica ?) ||ATTENZIONE !!! Ci è stato detto che "de luxe'' equivale a 'vista mare' ..... anche se il mare è quasi completamente coperto dagli alberi .||- In quattro giorni di permanenza teli e asciugamani non sono mai stati cambiati.
