Mealos apartments is located in the town of Aspous. It is a quiet village with 2-3 taverns and a supermarket, all within a short walking distance from Mealos which is very convenient. ||I’ll begin with Mealos apts greatest feature, its beach! The sandy beach is right outside the garden, with crystal clean waters and very kid friendly. I went to several beaches in Skyros and this was one of the best beaches for children. Having this right next to your residence was very convenient, especially for us parents because beach+toddlers=torture.||The room we stayed in had a kitchenette, a living room, a separate bedroom, and balcony (I don’t think all rooms are alike so that might be something worth looking into before booking). We had a large bed in the bedroom and two built in concrete beds in the living room, which looked cool and felt comfortable. The room was clean and kept clean with daily housekeeping provided by Mealos. Both living rm and bed rm had air conditioners. The windows in the living rm and bath rm had insect screens but not the patio doors. ||The grounds around the building are well kept. They’ve got a nice path to the beach, a garden, and a bbq area. We visited Skyros for the second time but it was the first time that we stayed at Mealos Apartments. The day before our arrival in the island, we received a text from the owners with information about the apartments and the island. On the day of our arrival, they called us while we were on the ferry to make sure that we understood how we will get there from the port. Mr. Stavros made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived at the apartments. As our rooms were not ready yet he offered us to sit on their terrace and sat with us having a chat. The rooms were clean and spacious and the ones with the sea view balconies had an amazing view. The whole communal area is full of trees and is tidy. You can also tell that Mr Stavros is creative as he built a barbeque area near the sandy beach, a space that can accommodate more people / groups of friends. He let us to use his canoe whenever we wanted and every time he would see us he would chat with us with a big smile on his face.
