Marti Resort
A beautiful location and garden sited area where 3 different accommodation buildings are located. But NOT the place to be for West-Europeans expecting a Resort experience!
Marti Resort is advertised & marketed like a 5star high quality resort, with full functional and luxurious facilities; this is unfortunately a lie, and not the reality. Although every facility was displayed at their website as daily functional, most were still closed, or barely available; especially the first 2 days (240 euro) of my stay there was nothing available.
Their reaction was, we are not a 5* resort, we are just a small family business, we just show the most beautiful things and tell you on our website what we might offer in particular cases (though its literally quoted as a promises and guarantees) and i was told to just use my imagination and take it the Balkan style, like i was in the mood for a Bulgarian style holiday; they have no idea how to do business with west-Europeans and their clear definitions of words, promises and guarantees.
Almost no staff No daily room cleaning, trash removal and renewal of towels No chef No lunch-menu/buffet No (real) diner-menu/buffet No baby meals 0-4y Swimming-pool was not ready (see photos, dangerous toxicity levels) No full service on the private beach Lots of nasty cats on the premises Completely invested with Wasps Administration, finances and knowledge on their quests was not in order Loud and obnoxious Balkan families with children that stay awake and scream till late in the evenings; you can easily say that the whole island is taken over by Bulgarians and Romanians
Note: All the listed points above where quoted, promised and targeted on their website.
I would say, it can be a beautiful perfect place, if you do not expect that what is offered on their website, and can deal with spontaneous cut-out facilities and services.
But not for us, we booked a resort, because of the facilities and services, for resort prices on Thassos a 120 euro per night, while we could have booked a hotel room for 40 till 60 euro per night, and have the...
Read moreA zero star review! I booked this resort on booking.com and two days before we would stay there, they sent an email that my credit card was invalid although I make all my bookings through this credit card and the previous days I had booked accommodation via booking.com for August. I was asked to edit my bank card details or add another credit card, I did and then again they didn't accept my second credit card which was also working perfectly. I tried to call them several times on their fixed number, a Bulgarian mobile number and a Greek mobile number but they didn't answer. I asked my partner to call them and they picked up the phone and said they were not in the office and they never called back again. I wrote a message to booking.com and I received an answer that "within 24 hours my request would be checked and that they would deal with it". Then, I received an email through booking.com that my online booking was confirmed and later on, I received an email from Marti resort that my booking was cancelled. It was just a day before we would stay at this resort. These are not serious people and should not run such kind of businesses. Later, when I checked on booking.com for another place to stay due to the last-minute cancellation from their side, I saw that they had the same room available with double the price I had booked for it. I definitely don't recommend anyone to stay there! Booking.com should give me the possibility to report them and I should normally get a compensation for...
Read moreI stayed here for 3 nights and paid 420 euros, but unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. The photos online look much better than the reality.
At check-in, I asked for a coffee and it was served to me with a finger directly on the cup very unprofessional. The problems continued: the air conditioning barely works (more like a simple fan), the bathroom door doesn’t close, water floods the floor, and the shower is broken with no proper door. Towels were not provided until we insisted several times. The pool is small, dirty, and only cleaned after complaints.
Breakfast is poor with very little variety, and if you don’t wake up early, there’s nothing left. The coffee machine rarely worked. The entrance doors don’t close properly, the handle was broken, the curtains look awful, and I even found spiders near the desk. The “private beach” shown in pictures is misleading in reality, few umbrellas, lots of algae, and not as advertised.
Overall, it’s not worth the money, not worth taking with breakfast included, and definitely not as shown in the photos. I would not...
