We spent three nights in this spotlessly clean, family-run hotel and it was a great location from which to explore the area. ||||Angelika is like everyone's favourite aunty, and though we don't speak any Greek and she just speaks a little English, we managed the check-in and out with no problems. Later, her daughter was on hand with lots of useful information about local attractions and we really appreciated her help. ||||Our room was on the ground floor with a door on to a small patio area where we could read and enjoy the birdsong and cicadas. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean with plenty of hanging space and a fridge and sink tucked away in a cupboard. We had twin beds and would have preferred a double, but for three nights it was ok - we slept well. ||||Breakfast was served on the front patio with a trio of frolicking kittens making us laugh. Due to COVID the hotel isn't doing normal breakfasts but instead we were brought a vast array of packaged cereals, cheeses and bread with our coffee - way more than we could eat, as it turned out - but it was fine and certainly got us through the morning. The freshly-picked peaches and plums that Angelika presented us with every afternoon were delicious and very much appreciated. ||||The hotel is opposite the local Orthodox church so you can't help but hear the bells, and a wedding took place on the Sunday afternoon which we were on hand to watch and enjoy (lots of glamour). The incredible Museum at Vergina is about ten minutes' walk away, fascinating Pella about an hour's drive, and the lovely town of Veria, with its many restaurants and lovely Jewish Quarter. ||||Many thanks to Angelika and her lovely family, who were so cheerful and kind despite all the COVID stress. Wishing them a great...

This was sweet, but sadly one of the only sweet things of our experience.||The bed was not comfortable, the church woke us up at 7:30 and 9:30 (or something like that). We woke up again because the owners were noisy.||There are no curtains in the shower which means you're flooding the bathroom when taking a shower.||But tbh up until this point, it still deserves 4 stars.||The topping on the cake was an elderly woman at the exit. This woman almost does not speak English and though we booked on Booking.com, she insists for us to pay another amount higher than expected.|She seems to get mad at us and keeps talking in Greek, where we have no clue what she is saying.||It took half an hour to reach out to someone who can speak English for her to...
