Kypseli Hotel — Hotel in Volos Municipality

If you need a reasonable wi-fi for internet don't go here.We were told on two occasions to wait a few minutes while they rebooted the system . It made hardly any difference. The receptionist implied it was our phone and 2 ipads were at fault as she could get a good signal at reception on her phone.||We were due to stay there for 2 nights but checked out after one.||The room was basic and the bathroom smelt of stale water.||The only positive point i can make is that it fairly cheap & the location is good even though there is no parking in the immediate vicinity. We were accommodated here for 1 night only. The location is good, about 300m from a guarded parking place (if you come by car), next to bars and restaurants. Nice view from some rooms. We had a studio for 3 persons, spacious, 1 twin bed and 1 extrabed, balcony, minibar, private bathroom with bathtub. We have seen also a standard dbl with twin beds - rather small, bathroom with a walk-in shower - also small. Breakfast is basic. Coffee is not good at all. The hotel needs some improvements in the rooms, but it is a decent 3 stars. The personnel from the reception is very nice...

During the massive flooding in Volos on 05/09, a girl found a stray dog that was soaking wet and shivering, and tried to get it to a safe place until the storm passed. People from the hotel refused to let her in to allow the dog to shelter from the torrential rain. At a time when humans and animals were in grave danger for their lives, these people decided to show their true, inhuman colours and leave others to suffer.
