Kokkinochoma Slow Living Villa & Suite — Hotel in Zakynthos Municipality

Kokkinochoma villa hosted me and 10 of my friends and it was nothing short of a dream. From the outdoor pool area surrounded by beautiful fruit trees full of bananas, figs, lemon, limes and even green oranges -to the beautiful veranda with a full kitchen and eating area overlooking the beautiful greenery that surrounded us, this house was truly surreal. With friends that had a 1 year old baby, there was a separate 2 bedroom, full sized gorgeous apartment for them to stay in on the ground level. On the second level there were multiple balconies, another full sized kitchen, two living areas, three bathrooms and multiple bedrooms for the rest of us. The decor from top to bottom was so perfectly curated and designed that I had to take pictures as inspiration for my own home. The staff was absolutely incredible— Lilliana is an absolute angel. She was the warmest, most comforting addition to our stay. As an incredible chef for over 8 years, she made us the most delicious moussaka I’ve ever tasted. She also welcomed us each and every morning with divine ice cold & refreshing frappe’s, helped with the laundry, cleaned up after us as if we were staying at a hotel and generously gave so much love and attention to the 1 year old we had with us. She picked figs from the tree in the yard and I could not believe how amazingly soft and delicious they were. I was unable to give Lilliana one last hug before we left, so I am sending the biggest hug from here to her beautifully kind and generous soul. This villa again, is an absolute dream. Speakers were surrounded in the yard to play our music and the trees were lit up at night with not a dark corner in sight of the exquisite backyard area filled with sun beds, beautiful tables, lamps and a fire-pit area. Our stay at Kokkinochoma was nothing short of extraordinary. This is a true family-run villa, and you can feel the warmth and care in every detail. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with wine and a beautiful charcuterie spread, setting the tone for an unforgettable stay.

The property itself is stunning. Chic, thoughtfully designed, and immaculate thanks to the incredible work of Liliana, the housekeeper. She is one of the kindest, most positive, and most loving people I have ever met. Despite a language barrier, she communicated so much warmth and affection. She treated our one-year-old son like family, bringing him toys, playing with him, and just generally doting on him whenever she could. The owners even gifted him a brand-new baby puzzle. As a first-time mom, I was deeply touched by their thoughtfulness, from having a crib ready upon our arrival to providing a special brush and drying rack for his bottles. Liliana even cooked us a homemade moussaka and did our laundry, all while keeping the villa and common spaces spotless. Her presence truly elevated our experience.

The villa itself is a dream. It’s secure, well sectioned for comfort and privacy, and so beautifully designed that you could happily spend entire days without leaving. Fresh fruit from the trees on the property was another delightful touch. The location is also ideal, within walking distance to Grampsas Vineyard, where we had one of the best meals of our trip.

Kokkinochoma is a breathtaking space to stay, with hosts and staff who make you feel like part of their family. This villa sets the bar for hospitality for me. We would return in a heartbeat and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone...

Our stay at Kokkinochoma in Zakynthos was unforgettable!! The villa is stunning, spacious, beautifully designed, and full of charm. It comfortably housed our group of 10 adults plus a 1-year-old baby, giving everyone plenty of room to relax while still feeling connected. The bedrooms were cozy and the common spaces were perfect. I especially loved cooking and eating in the outdoor kitchen / dining area by the pool with the picturesque views and being surrounded by lush greenery. Many fruits grow in the backyard, we saw bananas growing, pomegranates, limes, oranges and figs!

What truly set the experience apart was the service. The hosts went above and beyond at every step, making sure we had everything we needed and more. Their kindness and attentiveness made our stay seamless and stress-free, which meant we could just focus on enjoying our time together.

The setting was peaceful and authentic, yet within easy reach of everything Zakynthos has to offer. Whether sharing meals as a family, unwinding in the tranquil surroundings, or setting off to explore the island, Kokkinochoma felt like both a luxurious retreat and a true home away from home.
