For people that follow my blog and my review on Uk and italian sites you do know that I only review either if it has been an amazing experience or a very bad one||||Unfortunately this time has been a bad one||We had such great expectations for this place as the website is truly amazing and you would expect a great stay||||What we already encountered in Zante, (as a surprise since on other islands we didn’t!) is that they are quite cheeky and clearly misleading the guests on their choice! ||||For instance on the website is stated under inhouse that they have a spa ( with picture) but once you reach the hotel they will tell you that the spa is at 5 km away! They can arrange for a masseurs to come to your place. Also the yoga you need to book it and they will come to your room, we asked about a facial and after few days no one replied!||||They very eager to explain that most of the food comes from the farm but for instance you are not going to have ANY juice ( at breakfast or trough the day ) that is not from a tetra pack and from concentrate …I find this really strange and lack of professionalism. Also just few vegetables and fruit and a special cheese come from the farm. Everything else is not! ||||At breakfast ( if you have a breakfast included like us ) you will have few pieces of bread and petite croissant , a bowl of Greek yoghurt , 2 kind of fruit which are always the same and …hold on …the only eggs you can have is 1 boiled eggs !no scrambled, no sunny side …only boiled and only one !I find this shocking ! ||||Many guest were complaining about this !||Anyway the biggest set back for us has been that on the day we arrive our plan was to relax and have dinner at the hotel every night as the food is advertised as special !||On that day Thalia who is the “manager”of the hotel inform us that the chef it has a personal problem and cannot work …for the next few days||||I understand things can happen but not to have a service for dinner ( or a plan b) for a place that is isolated in the mountains is really unprofessional ||||So we have to take the car ( that luckily we have ) and search for a mediocre taverna around ||||Small note for people that might need to work on computer : the wi fi signal is weak and completely absent at some point||||We were not the only guest complaining ||||On the good note the place is truly amazing and has potential as it really look like an old village but is run with a too much of a laid back attitude, which we found everywhere in the island. ||||It’s a lovely place for children, My daughter really enjoyed the company of the dog and play with them, the farm is lovely, such a shame for a big potential but not used! We met the owner in the farm and he is very nice and so proud of his land! I wish he would choose more experienced people to run it! ||||||This is a personal point of view and...
Read moreWhat a wonderful experience! Such an amazing location. Picture sitting on the balcony of a stone cottage set in a pure, classical greek landscape, surrounded by ancient olive groves and overlooking a beautiful deep blue bay. This is it. We spend two weeks there as a family of four (two children aged 2 and 4) and it was the perfect escape. Leedas village is located 15 minutes away from the airport, a perfect location for excursions on every side of the island, whether it was the west or east coast. This way we were able to visit every corner of this picturesque island, our longest trip being max. 50 minutes (also an advantage if you are travelling with children). The closest sandy beach is a 5 minute drive away. The hotel management gave us very useful tips and information for activities during our stay there, which she also helped to organise. We stayed in a maisonette in the "village". It offered more than enough room for our family with it's two bedrooms and two beautiful balconies, but if you are travelling with a toddler that cannot use the stairs, choose a two bedroom recidence which consits of only one level instead. The hotel owner, hotel and restaurant staff was the nicest, most warm hearted and helpful I've ever experienced. The evening dish at the restaurant consisted of delicious traditional greek food and twice a week we signed up for the restaurant's barbeque (the fish BBQ was our favorite!). The children's pool was also a big plus for us. Another highlight for our children was visiting the hotel farm. Our children had the opportunity to feed and watch the animals (ponies, goats, pigs, turtles...) which they absolutely loved. We chose this accomodation as we love staying at unique places, separated from mainstream tourism. Our expectations were more than fulfilled! Thank you so much Mr. Dionysi, Ari,...
Read moreThere is a great deal to recommend at Leedas Village. It is peaceful, beautiful and staffed by delightful people. The garden is gorgeous and the small pool welcome. We loved walking and driving through the olives groves surrounding the property ( car essential in our view) The food is good and very fairly priced, we particularly enjoyed the barbecue night. We were 2 older adults in a maisonette, stayed 1 week early July. It was very hot and there was an issue with the main air-con unit that we reported the first morning, but which was not resolved till the last day, when the engineer was called out for the second time. The difference was massive and having spent 6 nights unable to sleep properly or even get comfortable in the upstairs room , my memory of the stay is a bit marred. Thalia, who looks after guests could not have been more apologetic when the problem was identified and I think we were just unlucky. I have also mentioned a few things that we considered might make future guests more comfortable in this maisonette- there was very little storage space. The chest in the living room is locked - ' it's for decoration' and there is only hanging space in the upstairs bedroom , so we ended up using open suitcases on the floor as storage. The kitchen is very compact indeed, with numerous machines on the only available work surface. I did manage to prepare a bowl of pasta one night but that's it. There are only lower cupboards so cutlery, knives etc are at floor level - not good for children or the stiff! Hopefully adjustments will be made. Kitchen excepted there was lots of space for us 2 but we wondered how 5 Adults would manage and I would not recommend the maisonette for young children. The view from the top balcony was wonderful when it was cool enough...
