Good ambience Cleanliness good good food

Only three stars due to the following reasons

no lift, one has to climb four stories to get to room staff can not speak English, major communication problem no hot water in rooms for bath no room heaters no cofee or tea maker in room wrong room allocation - room given to me was having no windows, it was like a prison, whereas all other team members got large rooms, after complaining they gave me another room which again was small but at least with windows. Why same rent...

Beautiful, clean, well appointed hotel. Everyone was very friendly and incredibly helpful and efficient. Although it's just off of a busy road it feels pretty far removed from the chaos of the city. And there is a great 2nd floor enclosed balcony that overlooks the city which is a perfect spot to relax in the evening. The restaurant staff was the best, especially Francisco Will definitely stay here the next time...

I was here in January with a group of 40 medical team doctors and nurses from the USA. The Hotel Manager “Francisco” was magnifico. After a hard day providing free medical to impoverished Guatemalan, we came to the Grand Santa Maria Hotel and Francisco took really good care of us. Breakfast and dinner were always good.
