I guess it's true for hotels as well as real estate. We stayed here recently for five nights with a large group.||||By North American standards, this motel is well below the Super 8 or Motel 6 variety. The room was clean, but it was spartan at best. There was a TV, towels, two beds, a floor, a few lights, and a door that locked. But that's about it.||||Since there's no AC/heat/fan situation, you almost have to sleep with the window open to get some fresh air. However, that opens you up to the highway noise. The hotel is situated just off of the highway, down a steep incline that places the second story rooms right at street level. The room had a strong, unpleasant smell of disinfectant.||||I did feel safe staying here, and its conveniently located near the highway. But I don't have particularly high standards for hotels and still was not impressed. Next time I come through Xela, I will try...
Read moreI went to Quetzaltenango on a family trip. We all chose to stay in this hotel because it has a good reputation among the locals but this time we were disappointed of the high rates we found. The rooms offer a cold environment, old televisions with remotes that don't work and a not so pleasant decoration. We got a room on the third level and the building had no elevator nor help to carry the bags. At least the rooms were clean (they smelled weird, though) but our experience was not worth the...
