Hi, I spent four months in the Almamya hotel in Conakry when I worked in Guinea. It was close to my office and easy walking distance to downtown resturants and bars at night. The staff were very attentive. The breakfast is simple but good. The rooms are basic and comfortable, but always spotlessly clean. Security and safety were first class all day everyday.||There were blackouts and problems at times with wifi and cable TV, however that is more to do with Guinea than the hotel per se.||Drawbacks were no room service or dining after breakfast, and downtown area is very quiet on the weekends.||I would go back and stay again...

Thanks to the previous reviews got a 4th floor room as the mosque is just behind and can wake you up if you are a light sleeper, in that case avoid the lower floors. The hotel is close by to the main market and restaurants. The laundry is free and you just have it drop the clothes that need to be washed in the basket and will be neatly pressed and folded and kept on the same day itself. The rooms are 1 piece apartment; composed of a small kitchenette with the essential tools and equipment (oven, microwave, electric water boiler. The laundry is free and included in the price of the room. I like the idea of receiving 2 bottled water every day. The flat TV of 50 inch is really nice and you have a free access to canal plus and sport. I wasn't bothered by the traffic which is usual in Conakry, it takes around 15 to 20 minutes to reach the Castro highway during the day.Around 1 hour to reach...
