Hotel Playa Bonita — Hotel in Atlántida

My girlfriend and I found this hotel on the Expedia app after unsuccessfully locating the Caribbean in. The price was amazing, the bed was comfortable, the AC worked flawlessly and the showers were hot. They had a cute pool on premise sis, the front desk girl was very accommodating in recommending some local mate life, and the food they served for breakfast was delicious. The location is a three minute walk to a beautiful white sand beach in the Caribbean. I stayed at Hotel Playa Bonita in Tela Honduras for four nights in March 2019. It is located slightly outside of the central area of downtown. At first, I thought it was going to be inconvenient. But, upon reflection, it was a perfect location. The beach is two blocks from the hotel. It is in a great spot where it is not super crowded. On the weekends in Tela, hundreds and hundreds of people descend upon this beach town. The hotel itself it's fantastic. First and foremost every employee who works here goes out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They go out of their way to help you in any way they can. Each and every employee here is exemplary. That's what makes a hotel good. The facilities are excellent. There is a small pool next to the breakfast area. The rooms all have air conditioning,flat screen TV, and hot water. The hotel also provides free drinking water and breakfast is included. The hotel itself is immaculate. Budgethotel met zeer vriendelijke meisjes bij receptie, keuken en schoonmaak. Geen mooi of aantrekkelijk hotel als je van buiten komt aanrijden, maar binnen is het beter. Prima overnachten en verblijven. Eenvoudige schone kamers op begane grond en op de 1e etage. Met tv, airco en ventilator, goed warm water en prima wifi. Koud en warm drinkwater op de gang. Restaurant heeft genoeg keus, voedzame maaltijden en keuzeontbijt. Als je met meerdere mensen dineert komt het eten vaak niet gelijk, dat kan de keuken niet aan. Dat maar gewoon accepteren. Bij verschillende kamers staan stoeltjes en bankjes buiten. Mijn eenpersoonskamer was beneden en had twee 2 persoonsbedden, geen terrasje of bankje voor de deur. Maar je kon in 5 stappen buiten staan. Kamer 2 en 3 liggen aan receptie, keuken en restaurantzitgedeelte. Om 6 uur in de ochtend hoor je al de keukengeluiden. Begane grond heeft tralies voor de kleine raampjes. Niet leuk maar voor je eigen veiligheid. Bruine gordijnen. Als die aan vervanging toe zijn zou ik kiezen voor vrolijker kleurtjes. Zwembad is erg klein maar heel schoon. Vanaf halverwege de middag komt het zwembad in de schaduw te liggen. Er stond slechts 1 stoel. Geen tafels, ligbedjes of parasol. Kan zijn dat je daar om moet vragen? Het restaurant is gedeeltelijk buiten, maar is geheel overkapt met 4 ventilatoren. Wel veel muggen, dus rond de schemering muggenspray, lange broek en lange mouwen aanbevolen. Ik miste hier een aantal luie comfortabele stoelen om bijvoorbeeld even een boek te lezen. Strand is enkele minuten lopen van het hotel, schoon en mooi met palmbomen en zacht zand. Bedjes en parasols te huur. Douches tegen betaling. Op zondag heel erg druk op het strand. Ga je naar het strand bij Tela Vieja, dan vind je veel vuil en afval en dat strand wordt vooral gebruikt door de bewoners van Tela Vieja. Wel apart om op een zondag eens langs te wandelen en de grote groepen vrienden en families te zien met al hun etenswaar, harde muziek en spullen om te verkopen. Vanaf het hotel loop je in een kwartier over de weg en over de oude brug naar Tela Vieja, een levendige plek met een plaza, veel kraampjes en winkeltjes, marktjes, veel verkeer, lawaai, gaten in het trottoir, rioolstank en harde muziek. In de schemering en avond wordt afgeraden daar rond te lopen maar overdag liep ik daar als blonde vrouw alleen rond zonder problemen en waren de mensen vriendelijk. Al voelde ik me wel erg bekeken.
