This place was such a wonderful place. The vegetation and plants inside the hotel were just amazing and beautiful. The two people that stood out most on this trip were Julia and Rego. Both spoke fluent English. Ask them about the restaurant choices. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were there with a missions group for 6 days. The first night we arrived, Julia sat down with us and went over the breakfast options. They have several to choose from and you were able to change the order each day or just leave it the same. Delicious and well priced (5$) or you could order individual items for around $4. ||The hotel itself is right across for the town center, and several restaurants. The town center had some entertainment at night if you wanted to venture across the street. We did and it was fun. The restaurants were very good with many selections. The prices were similar or maybe just a little less than the US, so they were a little more than I was expecting but still very good. ||The rooms were very well decorated, and quaint. We had reserved 5 rooms. The streets get a little noisy, as my room was right against the street, but it calmed down later in the evening. The hotel was clean, no bugs, and well maintained. Thank you to all the staff for making our missions trip such a pleasant stay, and especially thank you Julia and Rego for making the start of each...
Read moreKeeping the situation in Honduras in perspective, my stay at the Posada Papa Chepe was a comfortable option in La Esperanza - Intibuca, where few hotels offer wifi, breakfast and hot water. The wifi was solid. The free breakfast, just okay. And the hot water made me wish it were a tad hotter. But for two sleeps, I was mostly comfortable despite being chilly at night when the temps dropped. Like every other hotel I've experienced in the country, insulation and heat aren't options. But overall, the hotel is a nicely maintained historic property decorated with colonial charm and is situated in an excellent location just steps away from decent restaurants and the La Esperanza Parco Centrale. Definitely buy something from the lobby gift shop - some of the best textiles I've seen in the country. And definitely embrace the staff who were terrific, even helping me relocate to a similar hotel nearby when my request to extend my stay was denied due to existing...
Read moreIt has been two years since we last stayed at Posada Papa Chepe, and I wish we could go there again. We had moved from Argentina to Honduras in 2013 to do missionary work along the Caribbean coast, and for our first break we traveled to La Esperanza, falling in love with that town, it’s people, and the Posada! Ms. Olga and everyone who works there Is so attentive, the rooms are clean and the garden and decor are just beautiful. We went there several times during our mission and we would love to go back! It won’t give me the option for the correct date. Probably five times in 7 years, if not more) One time we had to stay elsewhere because there was no...
