Stayed here a few times before. They have a bad habit of quoting one price over the phone, and charging more at checkout. It happens every time. Currently L.1500 for a premium room with king size bed. Includes breakfast. That is not a good deal. Rooms are in bad shape. We bought the most expensive premium room this time as we needed the extra space for our baby. There is nothing premium about it, that we could discern. Our bed was noisy and needed replacing. The electrical nightmare is a joke with extension cords in view just to power the lamps and no options to plug in your phone unless you crawl behind the bed. They only give you 2 towels in the bathroom, as they are likely afraid of theft, or they don't care about quality service. The sink in the bathroom needs repair. The staff have a bad habit of leaving windows and patio doors unlocked after cleaning. Not secure. They have a small parking lot with a watchee. The hotel interior echos like a canyon, so hallway conversations and high heel shoes walking are amplified. We always ask for a room facing away from the noisy traffic. Beware that their pool is often used for locals partying, and that means alcohol and noisy rude people. Usually finishes at 10pm, if you complain loud enough. It's hard to understand a hotel that takes my L.1500 for a room, and then gives people with L.50 the ability to do whatever they want. Makes no sense to me. Are you a hotel or a pool place for party people? La Ceiba needs better value hotel options as the better hotels in Ceiba are well over $120/night. If you are just overnighting, then I want to...
Read moreIt is with deep regret that I must lower my previous rating for this once great place to stay. Last night my room was broken into through the patio door while I was in the room. The response to this by the people on duty was extremely poor. First of all, the young man on the desk did not call the police, even though he said he did. It was not until several hours later that the police were called, and then only after my husband became insistent. There was absolutely no concern shown fore me, even though the man who robbed me knocked me down, and I am 72 years old. This morning, the manager finally arrived about 10 a m. She as much as accused me of lying about the theft, although later she did admit it was possible. It was only with much discussion did she agree to replace some of my stolen belongings and to help me in replacing my lost documents. ||||It was agreeed that they would change our room, although there is not, in my opinion, a safe room in this hotel. There are no security cameras outside the area where my room was located, only inside the hotel. There is no security guard. Even though I was in the hall screaming for help, no one came to see about me until I got to the lobby.||||Before there have always been staff on the front desk who apoke English. That is no longer the case.||||I will be looking for another hotel in Ceiba...
Read moreWe spent the night of 8/20/13 at this delightful, boutique style hotel, and were very pleased. The hotel staff was polite, caring and helpful. Most important, the hotel was very clean, no odors, no dirt in the corners, and NO noise. The desk staff speaks English. There is a small, clean restaurant on site, and fast food and restaurants are nearby. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and this is a full breakfast, not just toast and cereal. There is a well maintained pool in a private area.Cibeles is close to the Mega Mall and a smaller Mall where expats renew their residency cards. It is close to D'Antoni Hospital, and convenient to Medicentro Clinics. If you really want to go downtown, it is not very far away. We enjoyed our stay, and will certainly return whenever we go to La Ceiba. Free Wi-Fi and cable TV, unfortunately for me, no...
