Oekotel — Hotel in Érdi járás

We found this hotel on the outskirts of Budapest on an industrial complex. We were wanting an overnight stop on the way to Bulgaria. There were 2 hotels having a sign saying 18Euros a night. As we were travelling through we didn't want to keep changing money to local currencies, in this case Hungarian Forints, so although looking "basic" this fitted the bill.||The receptionist asked for payment at this point and asked if we could try to take breakfast before 9:30 as there was an Art Class booked in for the morning.||The breakfast was a surprisingly good "continental" offering for the price.||For an overnight stop this hotel was fine unless you want all the trimmings (but then you would pay much more).||It is not suitable for travellers without a car, as to see Budapest would involve several bus changes, but with...

Stayed there for four days, it is just my personal rating so you may find some differences, depending on your personal taste!

Pro's: very nice staff (at least hungarian and english speaking), breakfast is included, close to the highway (good isolated windows, so not loud), free WiFi and last but not least it's really CHEAP!

Con's: Location (there is some kind of lake next to it but all in all it is far away from everything), there's only a gas-station in proximity (for shopping basic stuff), no parking-garage, room was not very clean, furniture and bed used, rather old and detiriorating, non-smoking rooms but still the smell of cold smoke in every room, breakfast is very simple and there was no way to turn up/down/off the heating!

Situated nearby motorway Gyor Budapest, or Budapest Balaton, Oekotel is offering you all you need for a short tranzit stay in Budapest. Always clean and confortable, with basic, but very good breakfast they have only few people doing everything there. That's why the price is so good (38 Eur/ double room). The bathroom is clean and the furniture in the room is confortable). We use this hoter almost every year in transit. Budapest centre is not so far (around 10 km) but i don't know how to get there without car. Very close to hotel you can find shopping opportunities (Auchan, Ikea, etc).
