I've never been a guest at the hotel, but I've been visiting this beach/lido every year for over 45 years since my early childhood when I spent every summer at Lake Balaton. It's always been more expensive than other beaches in the area, but until a couple of years ago, it used to be worth the price: it was safer to leave stuff lying around while you went for a swim, it had nice shady trees and a well-maintained lawn. And, partly due to the price, it hardly ever got overcrowded. Over the last few years, the place has been on the decline. I repeat, this is not about the hotel, of which I have no knowledge except that it's exorbitantly expensive. Most of the shade trees are gone and the replacements are young and not well tended. The lawn is unkempt and not mown frequently enough, which means it's full of flowering clover, hence full of bees, so you can no longer move about unshod. The entry prices continue to rise, without a correspondingly better service. This year (2024), they have gone so far as to close the snack bar, so lángos is only available at weekends, fish not at all, and there's only a choice of two or three kinds of meals at the hotel's restaurant. Nota bene, they charge you extra for a ticket that allows you to leave the place and re-enter. This year may have been the last that I visited here. The municipal beach next door is much cheaper and has better...
Read moreThe hotel is located about 1.5 km away from the railway station, you can get there in under 5 minutes by bike or a 15 minute walk. Upon arrival, we were greeted and checked in with a friendly attitude, and the lady even showed us to our room. The room was nice although it was gassed with air freshener so badly we had to ventilate with our door open for an hour. There is a mosquito net door on the balcony so you can get some fresh air in the room without also inviting all the bugs in. The bed and sheets were nice and clean but my bed made creaking sounds with every move which was rather annoying.||Food was served in a buffet system and unfortunately it wasn't very good. The cold cuts during breakfast were the typical cheap type which you can tell just by looking that they are low quality. The bakery products were good though.||The hotel has a private beach which is far less crowded than the public ones.||The free wifi worked surprisingly well in all areas.||Although a bit pricey, I would recommed this hotel to couples...
Read moreWell located, 5 min walk from center on the beach, with a guarded parking lot. ||Building interior is quite well designed but outside and rooms are poor. Staff was kind and helpful, served soup before lunch to my little daughter. ||If you want to have AC, ask in advance since not all rooms have it. You have to pay if you use it only which is fine. ||Small rooms, overall clean enough. Fridge and small TV inside. WiFi is free. Towels smell chloride. 1 bulb was out in our room and shower head was worn and no pressure. Next day they changed as we asked for without any issue. Maintenance might be more frequent.||Has a private beach, well maintained. Pool for kids and playground with lots of staff. Family friendly for sure with quality equipments.||Prices are quite high as used to on Balaton. Ball of soup for 750Huf, 2 pencake 700Huf, beer only 500Huf.||Room & food was poor; positive is staff and...
