One of the worst hotel rooms I’ve ever seen, and surely the worst accomodation I had on my 3 week trip now. I asked if they have rooms without carpets, and actually they have one. But they also said, their carpets are anti-allergic in the other rooms. Well, I anyway took the carpet-free room. But after a few hours in it, my eyes started burning and producing tears, headache and allergic fever started to develop, which slowly disappeared once I was out of the room. The laminate floor seems to be just built on top of an old carpet here, most probably for a good reason to cover it up. And it does not help when you don’t clean everything properly (e.g. there was quite a lot of dust on the heaters). Additionally the wifi is useless as it always disconnects, and the bed with its cheap plastic coating is constructed in a way, that you hit the edge with your feet several times. I didn't read all the bad reviews...unfortunately. where to start... the receptionist did not greet me when I arrived. after I greeted him, he mumbled something, but did not stop eating. he was standing in the back of the reception area leaning on a chair. He communicated with me in short, disorganised sentences. my room. as you can see from the pictures, not modern but acceptable. the bathroom is simply filthy. cobwebs, mould and rust. (could this be the title of my post :)) Sleeping. in the hallway 2-3 people were talking loudly and it was 90% echoed through the door. If that wasn't enough the local youth were having a drag race on the roads outside the hotel which was completely overheard. at breakfast the staff was nice!!! :) but the breakfast was below average. Read moreEuropa Hotel is very modest. It is very close to the border between Ukraine & Hungary (70 km) in a small town of Nyiregyhaza..||We just crossed the border and came for a stay in this hotel. I was surprised to see 7 STARS at the entrance:) In truth it was ordinary * hotel with nothing special.||Living conditions were OK but nothing to boast of. Breakfast was very modest: coffee/tea, toasts with cheese & ham. You won't find fresh fruits, vegetables, yogurt, great variety of delicatessen there. Actually we didn't expect much from the hotel where we paid EUR 30 per night for double room (on the photo). And we got what we had paid for. That's why we were not disappointed.
