I had the extreme pleasure of staying here on a recent family trip back to Hungary in July. We were a large group (5 adults, 1 senior, 2 toddlers) and the hosts (Gabriella and Leslie) were the absolute model of Five-Star professionalism. This is a small hotel in a small village setting, but the hotel offers every comfort you would expect from a larger hotel. The service the owners provide really makes this feel like you are staying in a much more expensive establishment. The rooms we stayed in were clean, very well kept, and the views from the front rooms are especially breathtaking.||The hosts/owners really out-do themselves with the food offerings. Every morning there was a complimentary breakfast, completely homemade and prepared from scratch. We stayed for a couple of days / nights and every morning it was something a little bit different and absolutely delicious. The amount of food was perfect to get your morning started to spend the rest of the day sightseeing and hiking in the area. The offerings on the dinner menu are also delicious and I would like to echo the other reviews on this site that state that this restaurant deserves a Michelin star.||There are trains that pass in front of the hotel, however although they can be a bit loud at times, our group got used it very quickly and it didn't bother us. The kids loved the trains, so if you have small children travelling with you this would be a plus for them. ||The staff at Hotel Hubertus Zebegeny do everything they can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They are friendly, welcoming, and go above and beyond what you might expect from a little village hotel / restaurant. My father and I were celebrating our birthdays during our stay here, and the staff went out of their way to make the event extra special. The food is absolutely amazing, and the service and care the owners and staff put into this place makes it the magical place it is. ||As the owner is a hunter, there is definitely a rustic feel to the decor, with many of the hunting trophies on display. The area has much to offer in terms of sightseeing and hiking trails, and the village of Zebegeny is very quaint. Life in this village is definitely at a slower pace than the bigger cities like Budapest, so if you allow yourself to relax and get wrapped up in the mystique of the area, you will definitely have an amazing time. We would absolutely...
Read moreWe recently spent 3 nights here as a family of 4 with 2 small children and we could not have had a better time. The hosts/owners are extremely welcoming and we could want for nothing. Our room was immaculately clean, with plenty of space for all the accoutrements that come with traveling with small children. |The kids had a great time watching the trains go by from our balcony overlooking the Danube, and the sunsets at night were breathtaking. There was no issue with sleeping as the trains seemed to stop at night. There was even a small play room for the kids so we were able to enjoy meals without interruption. |The food here deserves a Michelin star! All home made from scratch and tastes as good as any fancy fine dining restaurant. There are even occasions to taste local game brought in by the owner himself and prepared right on site. |Breakfast is included in the stay, and is more than ample for a day of touring the countryside in the region. |Even if a stay is not in the cards, I highly recommend a visit for a pint of beer or a coffee and the beautiful views...
Read moreThe hotel is very nice. We have stayed at a number of hotels withing a 20 mile radius of here and would say this is one of the best. The room we had was at the front of the hotel with views over the Danube but also over the railway line. The room was clean and tidy and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was clean and modern however the water pressure was not very good. ||Breakfast was included and was very nice. The dining room has views over the river. ||There was a little language barrier but nothing that we couldnt get over. We never ate in the evening at the restaurant whilst there||The Owner and his wife were very nice and friendly.||The only problem with the location of the hotel is the railway. There are trains running throughout the night. I believe a couple of freight trains ran whilst we were there. We were there for five days and got used to the trains. ||I would definately stay here again when...
