Hotel Nakshatra — Hotel in Assam

I usually refrain from posting negative reviews for any business, unless it is an absolute necessity. I had to post this review as both the staff and the owner were hardly sorry for their poor service. Utterly disgusted with the lack of basic hygiene in the hotel. I have attached a picture of the pillow we were given to sleep on. Of course covered in a thin pillow cover. When shown to the staff, their response to us was: Ayeta toh cover er bhetore aslo, madam. The sheer lack of acknowledgement and ignorance was shocking. The sheets, duvet cover and the pillows were dirty and stained. We had to ask the staff to change them. We were hesitant to even use the changed sheets. I had to ask my relatives to send us pillows, a bedcover and a blanket. There was no basic amenities available in the room, even had to ask for some water bottles. No means to make coffee or tea, dirty dustbin, dirty washroom and loud noise from the traffic outside! Rs. 5000+ is just not worth it. You will find a better room somewhere else for a lesser price. We originally booked the place for 6 nights, but had to change the hotel after 1 night, as my guest from the UK denied to spend another minute in the hotel. They charged us for 2 days, which was Rs. 10,000+, as we checked out at 6pm and not 12pm. We were hardly in the hotel as we were looking for a better room to spend the rest of our stay in the town. I did request for a concession, but they were not bothered to offer any assistance. The lady staff did say sorry to us and asked us not to post a review on the page. But truth to be told, if you like your room and bed clean, please do not think of booking a room in this hotel (unless they start taking cleanliness and hospitality seriously). Not...

It's really amazing to have such a good quality hotel for a small town like Karimganj. Best things about the hotel are surely it's location and the services it provides. ||||It's very much at the entrance of the town, just opposite the ASTC Bus Stand and hardly 500 meters away from the Railway Station. Despite it's moderate charges, rooms are clean and it provides in-house Veg/Non-Veg dining facility as well. This gets a great review by Sam212cu but that must be from someone who is happy only with a roof that doesn't leak. This hotel is very basic but it's in an area where there are very few people visiting so it's no surprise. Given that it's ok and the staff are lovely and very ready to help. The food is good as well - if they can remember to bring you what you ordered and within a sensible time frame! There is only one room which has both AC and a western style toilet. If you don't get that room you have to decide whether you want to be nice and cool or a comfy toilet! The electricity goes off at night and the generator cannot run the AC.
