Good things first: The hotel is situated in a serene location and the place is very calm, thanks to the beautiful place that Haflong is and also because of the fact that we were the only guests there. All rooms have balconies. Secondly, the food served here is quite good. We particularly liked their chicken butter masala. The room boys are very helpful too.
Now to the stuff that made me to give the place a bad rating. It claims itself to be a 3-star hotel and charges exorbitant prices for the rooms. The rooms or their service isn't worth even half the rate. It is a pretty old building and the rooms we were alloted were damp and smelling of cleaning lotions. The refrigerator had cocroaches inside them. The doors, locks and some of the lights weren't functioning properly and needed maintenance. There weren't sufficient toiletries inside the bathroom, to meet the standards of a 3-star hotel. In short, the whole place requires maintenance. The common use bathrooms at the reception and restaurant were smelly and not clean. They were filled with mosquitoes and other insects.
There is no option for a proper communication with the property (prior to reaching the place), as their phone wasn't working (the one mentioned online). We had booked rooms online and on reaching the property we wanted to make some changes (we wanted to change the rooms as the ones allocated to us weren't satisfactory; we had wanted to change from luxury to suite). However, they would not allow for cancellation of rooms booked online. That was fine. However, the fact that we were the only guests there and that we hadn't had the opportunity to talk to them before reaching the location should have been considered I guess.
They also do not have a driver's room or any other amenities for the driver (despite being a 3-star hotel).
To sum it up, the stay was not worth the money spent. Landmark being a hotel chain with some reputation, this property is an utter...
Read moreRooms - Rooms are ok but poorly mainatined. Termite infestation rampant across the property. Rooms are not cleaned or mainatined. Some bulbs dont work. Floorboards are broken. Doors dont close properly. And there is dampness in the room due to which they smell. One customer complained about red stains in the sheets and he was told to adjust since the staff couldnt take out such stains during washing. And he was told that since he checked into the room he was not eligible for a change of sheets. Even though we booked rooms well in advance, we were one room category was not available. Our bathroom had a stink which didnt go even with the exhaust on the whole time.
Food - Mostly the food is average and expensive. The paid tea is good but the one in the complimentary breakfast buffet can hardly be called tea. Chicken was consistenly hard and undercooked. Pork was hard and probably very old. Puris were very thick and not good. For our toddler, we ordered an aloo paratha for breakfast well in advance. And we paid for it. Yet the receptionist ordered us not to eat in the restaurant as other customers might want it too. The item is in the ala cart menu yet she told us do what you want i wont serve it to you unless you eat in your room. Other customers ordered omlettes from the ala carte menu and were served in the restaurant without any issue. Had a big argument regarding this. Chinese items have no taste at all. Manchurian was bland and the chicken balls in it were hard and didnt taste like chicken at all.
Our Haflong experience was ruined a bit due to the staff( mostly the receptionist) here. They dont seem to be from a hospitality background especially the receptionist. Rude. Arrogant and devoid of any customer service skills. Not many options in Haflong and this is why these ppl take customers for granted. If you have no choice then this is the place u have to come. Otherwise pls avoid it...

The suites were spacious with all modern amenities like mini fridge, geyser, tea maker, sofa, intercom, air conditioner( not used as it was cold) etc. The bed provided can easily accommodate three adults. They provided an extra cot for additional person with charge. The overall ambiance of the hotel was clean. The hotel has a big campus. It looks like a Circuit House. ||||Offered complimentary breakfast. The quality of breakfast was nice. Took dinner in the hotel. The quality of the food was nice, but a bit costly. In Haflong food as a whole is costly. ||||The hotel is located in the middle of the town and is surrounded by different Govt offices. The Circuit House is also nearby, where there is a nice viewpoint. There is a park attached to the hotel, with different play for children, which is mantained by the Forest Department. The park can be directly accessed from the hotel campus. ||||The staff were very helpful.
