Finally went to the much hyped and clocked in mystery the Sadar Manzil five start restaurant Here is the review after spending 2 hours there Take some time to read it out before you go: Food 2/5 Ambience: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Imp mention: There is a compulsory 1500 cover charge for every member ( even if there are children) So if you are a light eater think three times before going. Also only families allowed) Even after booking, they are casual in recording the booking so please confirm twice. Now let’s come to food A five-star hotel cannot say: It is all prepared before hand so we cannot do not spicy. Another place hiding behind spicy instead of using the right masala for taste Sweet corn soup: A bit too watery but rated 3/5 Kute masala ka paneer tikka: No No No .. it is actually a mustard tikka but no credible taste Edamame and peas kebabs: A little on the salty side and were supposed to have a filling but I did not get any. Gluten free white pasta: it was for the kid and she rates it 3/5 cause it dried too fast and has only the sprinkling of veggies Papad and fryums basket: good Beetroot, carrot, ginger, and apple fresh juice: 5/5 Paneer makhanwala: 1/5 a big disappointment as you will see from the pics… the gravy was bland (it was promised sweet) , makhane or foxnuts not roasted properly and panner was not seasoned. Watery gravy. Dal Isamil Khan: 2/5 a watery version of dal makhni not worth the price. I have so much better in Bhopal itself. Boondi raita: 2/5 a mistake with sour curd. Naan/garlic naan/ laccha paratha:3/5 Naan was not salted and rest of the food lacked salt too. Laccha paratha was ok. The breads win on the portion size Since our cover charge was not yet ‘covered’ we ordered desserts too:3/5 • Hazalnut brownie with icecream: seemed like top n town ki browned and not fresh with just ok chocolate sauce. We asked for icecream on the side and it was left untouched . • Malpua: fresh cooked with rabri and dry fruits and sweet syrup. It was good. Coke can was good .. almost worth the three times the price they charged Free tasters: • Teriyaki tofu:4/5 Good but I am not a fan of tofu at all • Some better cheesecake 1/5. Tased all processed food
Service 4/5 It is an female oriented place… which is quite a good marketing technique However like with every other place the servers were a little hurried even though there were only two tables occupied. But they are polite and quite accommodating.
Ambience This is what we paid the cover charge for. With the lights and renovation, the place is a photo dream, fully instagramable. We took lots of photos and they turned out good.
Conclusion: Go for the royal look of the place. For the food I would not go again

Read moreHonestly, thanks for at least giving the property a facelift, because that’s literally the only thing you guys managed to do right. Beyond that, everything else is a full-blown disaster.
Your staff is absolutely pathetic. Rude, clueless, and completely incapable of handling even basic guest interactions. It’s like nobody taught them how hospitality works — or maybe they just don’t care. Either way, it’s embarrassing. And don’t even get me started on the restaurant manager and reception team — they don’t answer calls, they don’t call back, and they act like they’re doing you a favor just by breathing in the same space.
And now, the real joke: this “₹1500 minimum cover charge” nonsense. Whoever thought of this should be awarded for creating the most brain-dead policy ever. If a group of 10 people comes in and the bill is ₹9000, why the hell are you still robbing people for ₹15,000? It’s not a cover charge anymore — it’s straight-up daylight robbery dressed as some “policy.” Absolute stupidity at its peak.
In short, you have a stunning-looking property run by some of the most clueless, careless, and arrogant staff I’ve ever encountered. Fix your staff, fix your policies, or just stop pretending you’re running a hospitality business. Right now, you’re just wasting everyone’s time and money.
Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy unless I really wanted to ruin...
