We had a horrible experience at Ratna Resort, Bhubaneshwar. We understood the meaning of "Looks can be deceiving". The place is in a dark alley(Closeness to the airport doesn't make the alley any less darker). The place was under construction and we were constantly sprayed by the cement god only knows was coming from where. The Manager was not at all respectful and considerate when we asked for a car to visit the nearby places, even refusing to look us in the eye, instead scribbling something in his computer (On Paint). This can make you understand what is the value of a customer here.
We had to argue with him unnecessarily to bargain the car price was without a doubt overpriced and we were paying a premium for "Next-Level" service. Parking charges in Orissa cost Rs 800 between 3 places situated in 2 cities. I think you can get the picture of the scam these guys were pulling here, they should have a documentary shot about themselves. Someone, Call BBC, Enron's going down, Again !!
Towels and Soaps were provided after we were exhausted at 1:00 AM. After telling them twice to keep it in all of ours room, it was still not done. These guys were unique, Jacks of No Trade.
Breakfast, Ahh. Let's talk about Breakfast. If anyone wants burnt, cold food which comes at 11:30 and was promised at 9:00, Please do come here and stay.
After all this, the best was yet to come. They checked us out at 9:00 AM and demanded us for more money when we were well within the stipulated guidelines.
Other than needlessly arguing and behaving with us miserably, they were making up things done by us when it was never done. They called us in our rooms, "Apparently" and mailed the formal legal document specifying the extra charges to our lawyers.
Oyo handled it extremely well despite the foolishness of the manager and at the end, our matter was resolved.
We had an eye-opening experience. If you're a traveler, know what's good for yourself and book a hotel only through Oyo.
If you want to stay close to the airport, Don't make the same mistake we did. Ratna Resort I think you...
Read moreBoth the rooms were stinky, dirty, and unhygienic. We asked for Plates All we’re dirty had stinky plates. Pillows had disgusting stains and an awful smell. Basic cleanliness and hygiene were completely ignored. The photos on the websites are highly misleading the real condition is far from what’s shown.
Drinking Water Situation: They didn’t even have sealed drinking water bottles! When we asked, they gave us some unsealed, suspicious water claiming it was “purified”. Later, they handed us a refilled old bottle. This is shocking and completely unacceptable. We were forced to order drinking water online from Swiggyinstamart/Blinkit Waste of Money: This place is nowhere near worth ₹2000/night. It’s not even worth ₹500. You're better off sleeping in your car or at the airport lounge.
Fake Reviews Trap: Be warned — the majority of 5-star reviews are clearly fake. Don’t fall for them like we did. The reality is drastically different. The hotel management seems to be running a scam by manipulating reviews.
Finally i would say that The only positive is that it’s close to the airport. But that alone can’t justify the pathetic maintenance, careless staff, and poor hygiene standards.
Do yourself a favour — stay away from Ratna Resort Hotel. You’ll thank...
Read moreWell, I don’t know where to start. I had booked this place thinking it to be some sort of a resort which by what I know has multiple rooms and is open 24 hours. It turned out to be remodelled house having rooms redesigned with private bathrooms. And that’s the end of it. The so called resort is situated inside a narrow lane in which even your vehicles aren’t allowed to park for lack of space.I had booked about 3 rooms thinking I could add an extra bed to a room of 4. When we reached the place, they had already put an extra cot for the third person. Which means they only have standard double rooms. I was misled into believing they have triple rooms. Had to manouver the fourth bed into one of the rooms myself. We were supposed to leave the hotel by 6 in the morning and as our stay came with a complimentary breakfast, I requested it be served earlier, only to be told that breakfast will be served no sooner than 8am. Really??? And which resort closes their gates at night with the incharge locking his own door to sleep for the night. I mean what would we do in case of an emergency. It was an aweful experience and a lesson well learnt not to select my stay based on prices alone. That’s it for...
