Our first homestay experience was absolutely unforgettable, and honestly, we felt so at home that we started calling it our home! From the moment we arrived until the day we left, we were treated like family, with so much care and warmth that it truly felt like we belonged. Everything you’ve read in the reviews is absolutely true—this place is special. The Menezes Home This beautiful heritage home is a treasure trove of history. Every corner has a story to tell, with antiques that you could spend hours admiring and learning about. Yes, it’s aged gracefully with time, but don’t worry—it’s equipped with all the modern comforts you’d expect from a high-end hotel. What really sets it apart, though, is the peaceful, serene vibe of the house. You’ll sleep like a baby and wake up feeling refreshed every day. The Menezes Family Nicole and David are two of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. They’re full-time parents to two adorable kids and still manage to be the most amazing hosts. Conversations with them feel effortless and heartwarming—they truly make you feel like a part of their family. Even before we arrived, everything was perfectly organized. Despite the 8.5-hour timezone difference, all our reservations were sorted through their website and WhatsApp. They even arranged our airport pickup proactively—how thoughtful is that? And when it came to getting around, David’s recommended local taxi drivers were just as genuine and kind, almost like an extension of their hospitality. Breakfast here is such a unique experience. It’s served at a home across the street, where you get to meet other guests and the hosts of that home. No formalities—just one big, happy family coming together to share delicious, authentic Goan food prepared by the amazing Laxmi and her team. Trust me, the food is absolutely mouthwatering, and even our kids couldn’t get enough! A Few Tips for Your Stay 1. David has a fantastic travel itinerary to share, but don’t hesitate to discuss your own plans with him. He’ll help you create the perfect itinerary to explore Goa. 2. Borrow the cycles on the property and take a ride around Batim. It’s a magical experience you won’t want to miss. 3. If you’d like to enjoy lunch or dinner at the homestay, let the hosts know in advance. They’ll make sure the day’s menu is ready and waiting for you. 4. Spend time exploring the house itself. Ask David for a tour—his stories and insights will transport you back in time to imagine the lives of those who once walked through its halls. As so many reviews say—and we completely agree—you’ll fall in love with this place and want to come back again. And trust us, once you’ve experienced it, you will come back! 😊

A Step Back in Time: Casa Menezes in Batim, Goa is a hidden gem if you are seeking a more authentic and tranquil experience, and also savor local heritage. The hosts, Nicole and David made our stay really special and memorable, sharing insights, history and development of Goa from the historic rulers , Portuguese times to the more recent cultural scene. Their passion for preserving their ancestral home and sharing its stories was truly inspiring. The heritage home itself is a beautiful testament to Goa's Portuguese past, with ornate artifacts, paintings, terracotta-tiled roof, and antique furnishings. Every corner whispered tales of a bygone era, and we felt transported back in time. The other highlight of our stay was the authentic Goan dishes served by their local chef Laxmi, prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, which were a feast for the senses. While Casa Meneza offers a peaceful and rustic ambiance, it's still conveniently accessible to Panjim, North and Old Goa and just 30 minutes from the airport. We enjoyed exploring Batim on foot, and even seeing the traditional bread baking . Our stay at Casa Menezes was an unforgettable experience. It was a perfect blend of history, culture, warm hospitality, and delicious food. If you're looking for an authentic and enriching Goan experience, look no further than this charming heritage home. Highly recommended for: * Travelers seeking an authentic Goan experience * History buffs and culture enthusiasts * Foodies looking to savor traditional Goan cuisine * Those who appreciate warm hospitality and a personalized touch * Anyone seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Casa Menezes in Goa, and I can't say enough good things about this charming place. From the moment we arrived, David, the owner, was incredibly hospitable and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. He not only made us feel right at home but also offered valuable recommendations on places to visit, making our trip even more enjoyable. The property itself is beautiful, meticulously clean, and well-maintained. It was clear that a lot of care goes into keeping the place in top shape. We were also delighted to have the company of two adorable little caretakers, Lulu and Phoebe, David’s dogs, who added an extra touch of warmth and love to our stay. David’s assistance didn’t stop there—he helped us rent bikes at a very reasonable rate of just 600 per day. He personally called the rental guy, Aloysus, who provided us with brand new bikes and even came to pick us up from Casa Menezes to take us to his shop for all the formalities. This level of personal care and attention truly made a difference. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, and the coffee from their restaurant was exceptional—definitely something I’ll remember for a long time. The people on and around the property were also incredibly humble, kind, and helpful, which added to the overall positive experience. A big thank you to David and his wonderful team for making our trip so memorable. We had an amazing experience, and we can’t wait to return!

A rare gem in paradise – Casa Menezes GOA

My wife and I stayed at Casa Menezes, an impressive Portuguese style residence, set in the beautiful idyllic village of Batim. Batim is a verdant paradise embraced by lakes brimming with an amazing variety of local and migratory bird life. The landscape is dotted with picturesque salt pans, towering coconut fronds, wild teak trees, traditional rice fields and ancient churches and yet, Batim is within easy reach of the pristine coconut fringed golden beaches in the south and the hustle and bustle of the pacier beaches and night life in the north.

Bedrooms at the residence were luxurious with en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, internet services - comfortable four poster beds topped the bill. The restaurant adjacent to the home met all our expectations and provided an excellent choice of cuisine for both western and local tastes. A well maintained swimming pool and a bar provided ice cold cocktails at an incredibly mouth watering price and also helped us cool off after exploring the picturesque surrounding areas using low rent bicycles (including a tandem), motor scooters or traditionally - by foot. Evening entertainment often included a live trio of laid back musicians where we and other guests could often sing along or jam with the group - of course this provided much hilarity and enjoyment for the local talent scouts!

My thanks to the wonderful host (David) and hostesses (Pamela & Nicole) whose generosity, inclusiveness, homeliness and hospitality ensured that my wife and I were always comfortable, at ease and received the best advice about making the most of our vacation in beautiful Goa and Casa...
