Despite the 8.5-hour timezone difference, all our reservations were sorted through their website and WhatsApp. They even arranged our airport pickup proactively—how thoughtful is that? And when it came to getting around, David’s recommended local taxi drivers were just as genuine and kind, almost like an extension of their hospitality.||Breakfast here is such a unique experience. Read moreA rare gem in paradise – Casa Menezes GOA
My wife and I stayed at Casa Menezes, an impressive Portuguese style residence, set in the beautiful idyllic village of Batim. Batim is a verdant paradise embraced by lakes brimming with an amazing variety of local and migratory bird life. The landscape is dotted with picturesque salt pans, towering coconut fronds, wild teak trees, traditional rice fields and ancient churches and yet, Batim is within easy reach of the pristine coconut fringed golden beaches in the south and the hustle and bustle of the pacier beaches and night life in the north.
Bedrooms at the residence were luxurious with en suite bathrooms, air conditioning, internet services - comfortable four poster beds topped the bill. The restaurant adjacent to the home met all our expectations and provided an excellent choice of cuisine for both western and local tastes. A well maintained swimming pool and a bar provided ice cold cocktails at an incredibly mouth watering price and also helped us cool off after exploring the picturesque surrounding areas using low rent bicycles (including a tandem), motor scooters or traditionally - by foot. Evening entertainment often included a live trio of laid back musicians where we and other guests could often sing along or jam with the group - of course this provided much hilarity and enjoyment for the local talent scouts!
My thanks to the wonderful host (David) and hostesses (Pamela & Nicole) whose generosity, inclusiveness, homeliness and hospitality ensured that my wife and I were always comfortable, at ease and received the best advice about making the most of our vacation in beautiful Goa and Casa...
