Casa Brilhante — Hotel in Goa

They cancelled our booking three days before we reached (the reason they gave was water damage on account of heavy rains, however we faced no rain once we actually reached North Goa). To save on Airbnb cancellation charges and penalty fees, they offered us alternate accomodation by offering a 3 bhk with extra mattress (we needed a 4bhk because there were 8 adults and 3 kids - 2 of the adults were pregnant women). And then we were told we can take an additional 3bhk for an additional 25k per night to be paid by us(despite this not being our fault). The whole thing reeked of them trying to make extra money off us and they shared screenshots of some internal conversations which indicated the villa was closed for regular maintenance (in which case they should not have taken bookings at all). The whole cancellation episode being on the eve of our flight caused a lot of unnecessary stress and their approach felt very unprofessional. We'll certainly be avoiding any property by overwater villas...

I dont know where to start, but first, the people handling reservations and cleaning were lovely people, making our stay great. The house is luxury and big, fancy, and the good size private pool, which is always clean, is just outside the living area. The villa is a short 5-minute drive from Assagao and 12 minutes from Anjuna and Vagator – everything is close by :)
