Karma Royal Palms — Hotel in Goa

Awesome Location ( walkable distance to Benaulim beach) Rooms are clean and neat......however do not get trapped in their membership specially middle class people because of following reasons. People should avoid these kind of memberships, because:

4 star hotels’ usual cost itself is Rs.5000. If you deposit the same 5 Lakh INR in banks, you will get 35000 INR per year as an interest at the rate of 7% per annum. Even if you consider inflation, it does not make much of difference on overall calculation.

Since these kind of resorts mostly located outside of cities, the cab charges get doubled (since most of the tourist packages start from the city center). Cab drivers charge both to and fro charges. In turn, you will end up paying heavy cab charges for your free stays.

For example:

“Karma Golden Camp” resort is located 10 KM away from Sam Sand Dunes and also this resort is 35 KM away from Jaisalmer city of Rajasthan. “Club Mahindra Netrang” resort is located 64 KM away from Statue of Unity in Gujarat. People plan for a trip in combination of 2 to 3 places. For example: Kullu, Kasol and Manali. In this case, If you want to visit Kasol, then you have to book other resorts/hotels separately in Agoda or MakeMyTrip apps/websites. Because there is no Club Mahindra or Sterling resorts in Kasol. For this you have to spend extra money. Also, if you do so, your every year's 7 nights will not be utilized.

Since these kind of resorts are located in remote places (outside the town), it is difficult to get good restaurants near by the resort. Hence you will end up in having food inside the resort which costs too heavy price.

If you take membership of these kind of resorts, then you have to book your stays before 3 to 4 months of your visit. It is impossible for any middle class family person to plan the holidays before 4 months.

Adding to previous point, you can book the similar resorts on the online booking websites/apps before 2 days of your visit also. Online booking sites/apps give free cancellation option 1 day prior too. But the cancellation policy in Club Mahindra, Karma Group resorts are too rigid. They do not allow you to cancel if it is within 8 days gap.

Usually you plan your holidays by preparing the itinerary first and then book your stays (hotels). But in this case, you have to book your stays first and then prepare the itinerary. Because you never know whether you get rooms in Club Mahindra / Sterling / Karma resorts of your desired location or not.

There is no Club Mahindra/Karma group/Sterling resorts in famous destinations of India like Gulmarg, Pehalgam, Sonamarg, Pangong Lake, Nubra valley, Meghalaya, East Sikkim, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Bikaner, Gokarna, Jog falls, Kanyakumari, Rann of Kutch, Maravanthe,...

I had the opportunity to attend a presentation led by Akeel, a representative of Karma Group. Akeel is a brilliant individual who offers comprehensive insights into the various Karma properties around the globe. His presentation was so engaging and detailed that it motivated me, someone who is not typically a traveler, to consider exploring each property within the Karma Group. The luxury and exclusive facilities offered to members were particularly appealing.

Although I was inspired to become a member of this group, personal commitments unfortunately prevented me from proceeding further. Akeel and his team presented several feasible membership options along with various opportunities for both national and international trips. These offerings were incredibly enticing and represented great value. However, due to my personal reasons, I couldn't take advantage of this opportunity, a decision I now regret deeply.
