Nambor Guest House — Hotel in Golaghat

Some local people recommended Nambor Guest House as the best stay here in Golaghat but we had to leave the place in utter disappointment as this hotel is very orthodox in its policies and moral polices customers. Me and my friend, who are not couples by any way, booked a one night stay over call. They did not mention about not allowing two people of opposite genders to stay in the room. While we booked only for one person that is my guy friend, I wished to be in the room to attend my important work meeting stating in 20 minutes from the room, of course after freshening up. They would not allow that and I would have to use only the restaurant space. Why would we pay so much if I cannot use the loo, and use the room for a little while just because we are an unmarried couple? We are not even a couple. The owner was kind enough to speak with a smiling face but what pissed me off was what he was speaking. Basically they withheld this patriarchal viewpoint that prescribes that everything under the banner of marriage is fine, but 32 year old adults cannot share a common space in their hotel. Very dirty,I think they never clean the room properly specially the doors and windows. Whole room was full of some types of mold which triggered alergy. All members are immediately affected (cough, sneezing and running nose). Even anti allergy medicines took long time to control. Very odd smell was coming from blankets. Floor mats are very dirty.
