Staying at Fairyfolk homes in Sissu was an experience I’ll cherish for a long time. Tucked away in the tranquil beauty of the Lahaul valley, this stay offers not just a stay, but a heartfelt connection to the mountains.

The Host: Subhankar: What truly sets Fairyfolk homes apart is the host’s incredibly comforting and caring nature. Shubhankar is true mountaineer, his passion for mountains made him start this homestay with the idea to offer everything what he would not find in other homestays. From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of their family. Whether it was offering us an extra blanket on a chilly night, sharing stories about the local culture. They have tandoor for heat and a projector in common room where everyone can sit and have fun, play games or watch movie together. I was playing ukulele and singing, subhankar arranged lights, without me asking for it, so that i can record good videos.

The Food: The home-cooked meals were absolutely delightful, but the star of the kitchen was, without a doubt, the Nutella pancake. Light, fluffy, and perfectly golden, -- it was the best way to start the day, every day. Each meal felt thoughtful, made with love, and tailored to our preferences.

The Views: Waking up to panoramic views of snow-dusted peaks, apple orchards, and the flowing Chandra River, with Sissu waterfall and sissu lake was simply magical. Whether we were sipping tea on the balcony or just sitting quietly watching the clouds roll over the mountains, the serenity was unmatched. Sunset over the valley was particularly mesmerizing. Moreover stargazing was an experience of it's kind, which you would never find elsewhere.

This stay in Sissu was nothing less than a dream come true. Imagine waking up in a warm, cozy A-shaped cottage, pulling aside the curtains, and watching snowfall right from your bed – a scene so serene, it felt like a movie.

The views of the majestic snow-covered mountains and rolling hills were absolutely breathtaking from every corner of the property. Every moment was picture-perfect – from sipping hot chai while snowflakes danced outside, to star-gazing in the crisp mountain air.

The cottage was beautifully designed, blending comfort with charm, and the food? Absolutely delicious – warm, homely, and just what you need after a day in the cold.

Special thanks to our incredible host Shubhankar, who made the experience even more memorable. Always smiling, super friendly, and ready to help with anything – his hospitality truly made us feel special.

To top it all, we were blessed with fresh snowfall during our stay. Watching the landscape transform into a white wonderland while tucked under a warm blanket was an experience I'll never forget.

I always wanted to visit sissu and fairyfolk homes is the best place you can stay in sissu . The view is so serene that it looked like a dream. I experienced my first snowfall there. Fairyfolk homes provided amazing home cooked food. The tandoor room is the best place where you can chill with your friends and other guests. And what can I say about the luxury cottage. It’s super comfortable, clean, beautiful. And it gives you a “pahari vibe” also. The owner Mr. Subhankar was one hell of a host , so welcoming so friendly. Always there when you need him.
