Arrogant owner!! Please don’t go there if you still want to keep your belief that Himachalis are nice people. We went to this small and cramped bakery around 2 PM while on our way back from Keylong. After reading the reviews on Google, we were looking forward to our stop here. However, as we entered the bakery, we enquired for croissants for which there was no response from the uncle and lady standing behind the counter even after hearing our request. When I asked for the croissants again, he replied very rudely that its out of stock and will be available in the morning. After this, I enquired about cheesecake to which he responded that “it’s lunch time and we also deserve some break as humans”.
There was no sign at the bakery to mention the lunch hours so that the customers can be mindful of the same. The way he responded was as if I had asked him to leave his lunch in between for my order, whereas both of them were just standing behind the counter doing nothing. And ofcourse, the owner could have used a polite way to communicate but I guess they expect the customer to magically know that it’s their lunch time so you shouldn’t dare to enter the bakery in the first place.
I don’t know about the quality of bakery products that you serve but I know one thing for sure, this attitude is definitely not taking you anywhere if you treat the customers as if you are doing some charity by running...
Read moreI have been traveling across Himalayas for 10 years. I have always been greeted with a smile, if not a conversation.
The chef was upright rude and declined to notice the presence of customers. When asked for a normal water, he didn't seem to hear the request and later said that they have only bottled water.
There was no menu and chef didn't seem interested in sharing the prices. We paid exorbitant amount of money for anything we bought. It felt he charged as per his whims and fancies. We paid 350 for a simple burger. Come on! Well I wouldn't have minded that, had he served it with some grace and smile. The entire atmosphere within the bakery seemed very intoxicating
My wife being a chef herself, understands the value of creating values for customers by offering a good experience, not just with food, but with the way it's served. These guys clearly don't care for...
Read moreWhile the food is fine, they have managed to do some good stuff in the minimal available space. However, when we step into the cafe/patisserie we miss the warmth of the people serving us. We generally look forward to visiting places in mountains as a way to support their business :). Sadly, this is one of the places I'll not remember for good memories or good food, I'll remember them for the lack of hospitality. Being a baker myself from the industry I can say a smile goes a long way. None of the owners bother interacting with the customers are extremely disengaging and impolite. No menu, we were charged exorbitantly 300-350 for a basic sandwich and burger. An advice recheck your prices and put up a menu. The sooner you guys understand the importance of being hospitable the better will be the experience of the guests...
