Had gone there for a tour of the hotel as I work with a travel agency. Must say it was indeed an amazing experience with oodles of hospitality and courtesy extended by the staff. The hotel, though at a distance from the city, is at an advantage for business travellers and people searching for a quiet weekend retreat. I was given a proper tour of the hotel which boasts of 133 well-built and comfortable rooms. It has banquet halls which may be utilized as per the need. There is a pool which is a little small as per normal standards but is still quite an eye-catcher in the evening as it changes colours. The hotel currently has 2 restaurants which are up and running. One which serves Buffet and À la carte. The other is the 24-Hour Coffee Shop. Both of them have a menu which is quite impressive. (** Please do try the Caramel Flan; I did and have to admit it was definitely one of the best I have had in all my life). Now coming to acknowledging the impeccable hospitality rendered by the staff: General Manager: Mr Abraham Zacharia-- Very helpful. Perfect Hospitality redefined. Front Office Manager: Mr. Akhilesh Vaidya-- The man who smiles his way through the guests' hearts. A 5-Star deserving person when it comes to giving "WOW" experience. Amol (Don't remember his department; either FO or House-Keeping): Very polite and courteous as he took me on the hotel's tour. F&B: Rohit -- Showed me around the restaurants Rahul-- courteous and very helpful Biswajeet-- the Chef behind Marriott's super delicious "Caramel Flan" Overall, a hotel which I would certainly recommend to one and all. Keep the great job going!!! Kudos to the entire team!!!

Luxury experience at affordable price. What is Luxury in hotel industry. A palace or a 5-star hotel? Hotels around the world are often referred to as palaces or ‘grand dames’ – vestiges of a bygone era when grand hotels were associated with luxury and glamour. But the concept in its true sense is quintessentially French and in 2010 the French Tourism Office bestowed the title on establishments that met certain specific criteria. So what makes a palace different from a 5-star hotel today – or, for that matter, a 6- or 7-star establishment, although there is no official category as such? Horwath HTL in their future of luxury travel report (2011) defined it rationally based on high price but also referred to a redefinition of “ultra-luxury” as “back to basics” with a focus on authenticity, establishing real one-on-one relationships, the importance of service and personalization, as well as the value and uniqueness offered through artistic design and craftsmanship, use of celebrated artists; and quality in all things. The Forbes Travel Guide, which independently rates hotels, defines “elements of luxury” as one of their main evaluation criteria. According to Chris Fradin, Vice President Europe for the Forbes Travel Guide, these are “standards that reflect detailed attention to the level of sumptuous comfort, choices and convenience provided.”

As per my experience I will it as 3 only. Overall all property is excellent, rooms are excellent. But let's look into other parameters as I am not from Surat and I booked later on I found, Distance 1. It's very far from city (practically outside the city), hence it's a problem to get the auto / Taxi to reach their 2. While returning or reaching to city again you will not find any ola/ uber except hotel car or your own car Food 3. I had my dinner (a la carte ) and buffet breakfast in the morning and found food quality is good but has no taste. I found majority food items does not have their basic taste. 4. Ala carte we ordered pizza and thai curry and found both were very bad. 5. In breakfast also idli were not cooked properly, while giving feedback it was not taken care or nor changed. Restaurant service 6. Restaurants service is very bad, you need to ask for anything 2-3 times. Restaurants food and services needs to improve drastically, as for such a beautiful property it's does not complete your stay if you will not enjoy the good food. We have expectations that Marriott must have good chef who under stand taste buds of the customer. Overall all excellent place to stay in such a beautiful property but don't expect much on food their.

This is a moderate hotel undermined by its location and resources and while the staff are cordial and eager to assist, they are not adequately trained to manage customers expectations properly. There's a particularly acute mosquito problem at the hotel and the hotel staff can only do so much to control it, despite their valiant efforts.

We were first given the wrong room (twin instead of king size) despite being told earlier in the day that the king size would specifically be prepared for us. Then, in our new king size room, which was hastily provided and not prepared for a double occupancy, upon reporting that the wall-sized blind inside the shower was stuck with unsightly, disgusting mold, I had no response for half an hour despite multiple calls. When I was eventually given a new room, it had the same problem. So did the next room - nobody had bothered to check the original issue in my room, not ensure that it wasn't present in the replacements offered. I eventually had to request them specifically to clean the mold on my original room, the person who assisted me didn't seem to think there was any problem expecting customers to shower in such conditions. I don't necessarily blame them for this view, the hotel staff should be given more clear direction regarding the standards guests expect.

Breakfast service was regularly slow with our hot orders but the quality of the offerings are to be commended.

My recommendation to hotel management:

remove the blinds or shift them outside the window rather than inside. Also instruct housekeeping to unwind and wipe them dry daily. That this isn't already the case is insane to me. Allow guests to make hot orders at the kitchen counter and wait for them. Orders taken by the attendant at the counter seemed to cause confusion. Also ask waiting staff to be less aggressive in asking guests whether they require assistance, we had far too many people trying to help us, disrupting our breakfast and dinner...

It would not be wrong if I say that the hotel became second home to me. I wasn't feeling like coming back to job place :p

The culture followed to entertain guests is unparalleled. Mr Vikas (GM) I am indebted to reciprocate for all the love i got at the hotel through this feedback.

Mr James was so cooperative for any overall assistance.

Mr Jithin along with Mr Anjum and team members were up and about for food and beverages related hospitality.

Mr Prabeen helped a lot during the stay from housekeeping side.

Mr Subhash helped in every possible way. He goes out of the way to help everyone. A real gem.

Mr Brijesh is just awesome with the food menu. For 4 months i felt like everyday they have a new menu. :D

In the end I would like to thank ( not commonly) but pin pointly the following:-

From restaurant side:

Mr Sovan Mr Abani Mr Kishor( head Chef) Mr Bishwajeet( Chef) Mr Prem( Chef) Mr Vim Miss Sim Mr Abhilash Mr Neeraj ( both of them) Miss Sumitra Mr Akshay

From Houskeepng side:

Miss Kristie Mr Abhishek Mr Praneet Mr Sandeep Mr Sudheer

From Engineering side: Mr Raghuvanshi Mr Paresh

Lastly but most importantly the front desk:

Mr Mohit Mr Sourabh Miss Arpita Miss Preeti Shobha Madam Miss Shivangi Mr Sajan

I specially wish to thank the intern party as well by name:

Miss Poorva Miss Twisha Miss Lisa Miss Riya Mr Divyansh Mr Jeet Mr Hamdad

The service was very good but they need to improve the upkeep of the hotel. I think during COVID times they did not maintain the normal upkeep due to lack of hotel guests hence the 3-star review.

I believe they have a good setup with staff who are proactive, polite, right attitude and above all professionalism that is needed in a 5-star hotel. I guess the management did not put enough thinking while business was slow. When it was built I am sure it was built to be a 5-star accommodation. Right now that is hard to bring back. A few examples - 1. The gym air conditioning is in bad shape. I do not think it is healthy inside. The air inside the gym is moist and heavy. They need to clean the air conditioning system and run it regularly. 2. The pool water is dirty. you can't see the floor - not sure if the water is not cleaned/recycled or something else that makes the water like that. The pool area is also not managed well. you can find towels, sandals and dead bird(!) for days before someone takes care of it. Also a lot of cigarette buds lying around. I suggest the hotel provides more staff for cleaning and place more bin for smokers to drop their buds. 3. The rooms are also not well kept. stain on the floor, stained sofa, scratched windows, old or ragged towels are only a few examples. I was given brand new towels and old ones that is yellowish. However, I commend the staff for fixing my door on their own when they found out it was too stiff to close. I also appreciate the turn-down service and cleaning the staff did during my 10 nights stay there. I also thank all the chefs and staff for providing food with variety and care. I wish them all...
