Hotel Sea View — Hotel in Gujarat

Changes to our travel arrangements meant that we could only stay one night in Mandvi. We greatly enjoyed our visit. Our arrival was easy as the Sea View is only 200 metres from the ST Bus Stand. We were given a friendly welcome at the hotel and shown to our large, spotlessly clean room which included a well-furnished sitting area with sofas, a table and kettle. We had a great view of the shipyards and the river with its flamingos and other birds. ||The Sea View is on the edge of the old town with its lively markets and shops but is quiet at night. We walked through the old town and on to Wind Farm Beach, an interesting 2km stroll. This was a week after Diwali, still in the holiday season. The beach felt like the happiest place on earth with families and groups laughing with enjoyment in the water, on the camels and experiencing all the other attractions on offer. ||We experienced excellent service at the Sea View. Me and wife were doing a budget visit to Mandvi and Bhuj (over a weekend) when we stayed in this hotel. We felt the hotel was just OK but worth the fare it charges. Our choice of this hotel was solely based on lonely planet book. Don't be confused by the name of the hotel. It is not a sea view but yes since it is located right in front of the ship building area, the sea water comes between 12pm and 4pm - which is a fun to watch. Food is served in the room but not cooked in the hotel. Breakfast was cooked in the hotel and was not great. The good part was that buses of private travels such as Royal, etc. start from here. Also the local bus to Bhuj also starts right outside the hotel which was very convenient. Auto ricks are available easily and will take you to the beach for 50 bucks or so. Very bad experience. This Year.||||Once every year we visit mandvi but this time Sea View overcharged with no amenities, stinking bathrooms. ||Age old interiors and mattresses. ||And old blankets.||||Better hotels available like Kalash, Mandvi Inn, Krl Inn, where rates and interior are far better.||Also seaview rates are higher than others.||||Towels, soap and other toiletries were also not provided.||||Check out time is usually 10 but we offered that we will leave rooms by 8 so that he can give it to some1 else. ||||Pending rooms also we checked out by 4pm giving 2 days charge. ||Still he fought with us. Which was quite shocking. ||||We have had very good relation with owner but the fact remains that other hotels are charging less and providing...
