Having prebooked this hotel a month in advance and a call from the UK to Prasant (manager)we hoped that by the time we arrived in Delhi at the end of our 6 day trip all would be well. ||||On Thursday 26.2, after 17 hours of travel between Udaipur to Delhi we were ready for a shower, meal and sleep on arrival as we had a flight home the following morning. When we arrived at the hotel nobody helped us with our bags, despite me having a fracture and there was no Prasant just boys who only spoke Hindi. It took time to get our room. After registration I got the keys and walked up to the room which stank strongly of smoke. I was sure that this was a no smoking room and went to ask for another room, to which we were told the hotel was full and they could spray it for us. I suffer with allergies and we’d searched hard to find a hotel that was close to the airport and non smoking. We were told that nothing could be done if the previous occupant chooses to smoke (what about charging them for the inconvenience of the next guest?) and fully cleaning the room which should have been done hours before. ||||My daughter explained that we’d been on the road for ages and this was unacceptable and we needed another room. They said they’d find one at another hotel but wouldn’t provide us with a name so we could have been going from one bad room to another. We asked to speak to the manager as the chef Vijay was sitting in for him as well as being the hotel’s chef. Eventually after an hour we got to talk to him, by then it was About 10.30 at night we were still in reception and still hadn’t eaten. After much discussion about a refund for not fulfilling the agreed accommodation we were finally offered our taxi fares and dinner on the house as he said couldn’t refund the room charge. I also took a photo of the no smoking sign at the reception for what it’s worth! ||||We went to our very smoky room, all the textiles had a long term smoke smell to them, had room sprayed with lavender air freshener, and ordered a paratha and chai on the house which did at least taste good. ||||Vijay was helpful and understood us being disgruntled about the situation. We had to ask if the boys would help us up to the next floor with our bags. This hotel looks good on booking.com but it needs to deliver on its promises. ||The next morning I hunted the room for a kettle and tea making facilities (as seen on booking.com) but couldn’t find a cup or kettle. I’d brought my own tea bags so called down to reception and finally after another wait we ||received said kettle which should’ve been in the room in the first place. ||||The back of the hotel was very noisy that night with a pack of dogs barking from 2-5 am so we didn’t get much sleep. I was also chesty in the night due to the smokey room.||||We had a light breakfast and got ready to leave the hotel as our flights had been cancelled and we needed to get another flight. We opened windows to freshen the room in the morning and watched some cows go by. ||||Vijay helped my daughter find a nearby shop and got one of the boys to look out for her (which was very thoughtful) so she didn’t get lost. ||||Vijay also ordered our taxi and mentioned to driver not to charge us due to the issues with our room. We felt that Vijay did care about our issues and he was a kind natured and helpful man. ||Later too, the boys were helpful when they understood everything. The return taxi driver was polite and actually ||declined the tip I offered him as Vijay told him not to take money from us.||||The rooms are as on booking.com minus the kettle and cups, but with the addition of smoke smell.|| The shower at least was ||hot and clean and the food we ordered was good, tasty and fresh as cooked by Vijay. |||| We were disappointed that Prasant (the hotel manager) was not at the hotel at all to deal with this matter himself and that it took so long and was so late resolving the issues satisfactorily. We really had to push to get some form of compensation despite him telling us he was sorry. ||||||On a positive note, With a little more training for staff greeting travellers when there’s no manager available, plus actual smoke free rooms with tea making facilities provided, this would bring the hotel up to par. It might help to remove plastic bags from the trees outside too.We gave the hotel 2stars due to the inconvenience we...
Read moreThe rooms are good, but the service and response time for any requests are very poor. I was changed to 3 different rooms late night since AC was not working and they stopped responding despite informing that AC was not working in the last room as well. Had to checkout the next day. I have still not received the invoice after 2 weeks of check out and had to sit at their reception during office hours for more than 2 hours for the same. Tariff at hotel is higher than the online tariff, so recommended to book online on case of any extensions.
Edit: The room changes mentioned above were in a different hotel to which i was shifted by the manager due to unavailability of rooms when I tried to extend the same. But after initial response, the manager did not pick my call despite repeated calls. Finally received the invoice after waiting at...
Read moreI have been staying at La Residence for the third time in the past three years, and I can confidently say that the quality of service here is always at the highest level. The rooms are furnished with comfortable and high-quality furniture, the bed linen is always clean and pleasant, and the kitchen deserves special mention — the food is delicious and varied. The atmosphere of the hotel is cozy and welcoming, which makes the stay truly enjoyable. I would also like to highlight the excellent value for money, which is hard to find in other hotels of this level.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mohd Yasar for his hospitality and constant support. Thanks to his care and attention, I feel at home in this hotel. It is people like him who create genuine service and make the stay...
