I'm absolutely shocked that there is no honest review of this hotel. I stayed there on 29th November 2018, and writing this on 2nd December 2018. So let me try and paint a real picture.
PROS: Wonderful view from the room..
CONS: This hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It's in Naddi, about 5 km from McLeodganj, and is half a km down from the main road, on a very steep gravel road initially, followed by a kutcha road. It is at the end of the path, and there is nothing nearby, not even other people's homes. If you want to visit McLeodganj, there is no sense in staying so far away, with no local transport available, and being too far for walking distance. The hotel is very new and still under construction. The ground floor was still not ready and there was nobody at the reception. We had to knock and shout out to alert someone. When we went on 29th Nov 2018, there were only two staff and no other guests. So we were the only occupants in the entire hotel, and being in the middle of nowhere, it's a bit creepy. We ordered dinner at night, and there was no cook. They had to go out and buy it from a nearby place. The serving size was small and the quality of food was very ordinary. The next morning, we went down for breakfast at 8.45, and could not find a single soul in the hotel. I went about ringing bells of all the doors and in one of them, the two staff were still sleeping. We had to wake them up and ask them to give us some breakfast so that we could leave early. We were served two pieces of bread with omelette and tea. While taking a shower, a leech had somehow crept into the bathroom. Thankfully I had noticed it before it could do any harm. The front door has a glass panel above it through which bright light keeps coming all night long from the corridor. As a result, the room is too bright for a good night's sleep. The verandah and front door has half an inch of gap from the floor, and icy cold wind keeps flowing in all night long. Along with this, they have made the floors of tiles. As a result, the rooms are freezing. Thankfully, there was a heater in the room. I blocked the gap by placing a bag in front of the door. The curtains are black in color, and after sunset, even with lights on, the room is pretty dark.
Overall, not a pleasant experience. I would suggest booking a hotel at McLeodganj itself, because Naddi is too far. We had to quickly wrap up our visit to McLeodganj in order to get back to the hotel on time....
Read moreI have been a regular to Naddi and have been to almost all the hotels of the area and have loved Udeechi Huts here but this time I saw a newly opened property, The Eden and thought of trying it. Reviews were few but all were promising so made a reservation for 2 nights. June is a very busy time for the hills but this time it was really trying times.. more than 3 kms long jam on the dharamsala McLeodganj road meant that I had to wait in the queue even to reach naddi which is on a road offtaking from the main road. Anyhow reached the sunset point and again it was a jam for another 20 minutes. I had always felt that Naddi was so relaxing and quiet though being so near to McLeodganj but commercialisation has taken its toll and naddi too has become very crowded. Anyhow, Eden is located at a fantastic location with unhindered view of the snow clad dhauladhars and spectacular view of the nearby mountains, forests and stream flowing in the valley. Check in was quick and the room was very very good. Being new, everything was in great condition, toilet and room were super clean. The WC and the wash basin counter made the feel of the hotel to be a premium one. The balcony with the view was excellent and the size of the balcony was good too. The hotel was nearly full on the 2 days we stayed so the food service was a little slow but the food was always good in taste especially the Indian food. Our stay was very comfortable and I would love to stay here again.... but definitely me and my family are never heading to the hills in the...
Read moreThe highlight of this place is its Awesome, Jaw Dropping Location, situated right in front of the terrific range of mountains with a view to kill for. It's a new property with very decent rooms and decor, another plus is their amazing staff always helpful and ready to oblige, very heart warming experience. They serve decent food and breakfast is served in the room, they have a small restaurant but trust me you will enjoy your food the most sitting in your rooms balcony and relishing the sight of serene mountains. My highlight of the place was when the clouds came visiting the place made the experience heavenly. Nice rooms as I mentioned and each one has its own balcony offering a stunning view at your disposal. The only minus is the approach road needs a confident driver to manage the steep twisties, I drove by myself and my confidence helped me a lot but once you reach there it's amazing, though the stretch is only for 300-400 odd meters but needs cautious handling. It has got nearby trekking places I went on a 40 min odd trek from the place and absolutely loved it, the pine trees and nature around me overwhelmed me with its serenity. A perfect getaway with family and friends, the Manager Prince is a very nice chap and knows the place, he recommended the trek to me which I mentioned above. Overall an amazing...
