Location: 7/10
Hotel Eagle Nest Central Heated is located around 4 kilometers from local markets like Gandhi Chowk (MG Road) and Shubhash Chowk. However, transportation options are highly inconvenient. There are no cabs readily available, and guests must either have the contact number of a taxi driver or obtain it from the reception. A one-way taxi ride costs between 300 to 400 rupees. The hotel is situated in a military area, which ensures a calm atmosphere and good mountain views. However, the road leading to the hotel has a very steep slope, making it difficult for many drivers. This aspect could be particularly challenging for guests arriving by car.
Room Service: 1/10
The room service at Hotel Eagle Nest is severely lacking in many essential areas:
Ventilation and Cooling: The rooms do not have ceiling fans, likely due to the low ceiling height of around 2.5 meters. Instead, wall fans are provided, which are inadequate. The air conditioning system is installed but highly inefficient, operating only for 10-15 minutes every 1.5 hours due to an automatic cutoff. There is a manual button to turn on the compressor, but guests may be unaware of this feature and mistakenly think the AC is broken. Notably, premium rooms do not have AC at all, and deluxe rooms face the same AC issues mentioned above.
-Basic Amenities: The provision of basic amenities is extremely poor. Only one small soap for handwashing is provided, with no additional toiletries such as shampoo or bathing gel, which are supposedly only available in super deluxe rooms. Only one towel is provided per room, even if there are multiple guests. An electric kettle is not provided, and drinking water is not complimentary but charged at 30 rupees per bottle despite the MRP being 20 rupees.
Intercom and TV: The intercom system does not work, making it impossible to contact reception from the room. Additionally, while there is a TV in the room, the Tata Sky connection is deactivated, rendering it useless.
Geyser: Although a geyser is present in the bathroom, its functionality is questionable since it is controlled from the reception and was not used during the stay.
Privacy Issues: There is a window below the AC without any curtain, leading to significant privacy issues.
Mentality of Service:
The overall mentality of the hotel seems to be to avoid providing adequate service. The same rooms are categorized as deluxe or super deluxe, with no real difference in the quality or amenities provided. The lack of basic amenities and poor service does not justify the high rate of over 2000 rupees per night. This is particularly unreasonable considering that guests will end up paying an additional 600 to 1000 rupees per day for local travel to the market due to the hotel's remote location.
Conclusion
Hotel Eagle Nest Central Heated offers a peaceful location with good mountain views but fails miserably in terms of room service and basic amenities. The lack of essential services, poor room maintenance, and the inconvenience of transportation make this hotel a poor choice for travelers. Given the high cost and inadequate services, it is highly advisable to consider other accommodations near Gandhi Chowk. This alternative will not only offer better service but also save on additional travel costs. The overall experience at Hotel Eagle Nest is extremely disappointing, and the hotel's management needs to address these significant issues to improve guest...
Read moreFirst it all started with the arrival of my family at the hotel. The sales team just had to sell the room without proper information to the hotel staff. Even after explaining atleast twice only one day before at 14000 that we shall be reaching the hotel at morning 0700-0800 and checkout on next day at 1700 that weather get they can provide us the room at those times or not. They assured they can if the rooms are available which the hotel on ground staff team had no idea about and they denied the check-in. It was all total chaos for 1hr in getting 1 single room for to refresh ourselves and we were promised room till 1100 which we gotten finally at 1315. After entering the room we realised this isn't a 2000INR premium worth room as the whole room can't be used because of a support beam running just after the window reducing the carpet area and movement inside the room. The drawers were partially broken, no mirrors inside the room. The upkeep of the room was not upto the mark only bathroom was good but then again the water pressure was miserable. The breakfast we had was too pathetic one single thinnest aloo paratha was 90 bucks with pathetic tea. At the time of check-out explaining the same to the caretaker Akshay that this is what we are getting in 2000 whereas what we have seen after checking out other hotel rooms in 2000. He was all but not more than a sorry for the experience as from the start he was unaware of the days and words shared with the sales team and is our role he would have definately done something, didn't say much about the price and condition of the room as sales team does the pricing banking on Ranveer...
Read moreI never thought I had to write a negative review about this hotel but it's the hotel people, the management behind, who forced me to write this.
I booked for 2 days, paid Rs 2600 (1300 per day, excluding food). For some personal reasons, I had to checkout after one day and asked for one day's refund in this case. First they gave the 48 hrs time frame excuse and later just denied to give refund. This is my prime reason to give this neagtive review. There are more reasons as follows.
In house food menu is outright expensive and taste for the price, is mediocre. The approach road to the hotel is extremely steep and could pose risk for tourists.Even if you're planning any local sight seeing, you need to tackle these steep up & downhill with very tight corners, everytime. Rooms had fair amount of insects, ranging from bugs to spiders. If you're a content creator then you're limited here, as the location of the hotel is adjacent to Indian Army base. So your filming creativity would ge hindered, eg. No...
