Rather plush hotel situated on Govind Marg, in Raja Park, the area wasn't my fave area to stay, but there's a large shopping mall nearby and the main attractions of Jaipur aren't too far off.

If I'm honest, when I first seen a few photos of the outside, I thought it looked a bit tacky, it's fine though, and when I was shown up to my room by the dressed doorman, my expectations seemed to be met. The room ticked all my boxes for the price I paid – working A/C unit, fridge, safe, desk, nice view from the 6th floor..

The bed was as comfortable as you like, a good shower, desk & chair, plenty of working power sockets. The room was clean too.

Check in was pretty quick & painless, smiling staff, welcome drink. Given a WiFi password without asking (for THREE devices too, wow!).

It was also one of those hotels that tell you where you can stick your towels if you don't want them changing daily (I don't) Good for anyone that cares for the environment.

Noise levels weren't too bad, I could see the main road from my room, but there was just the low hum of traffic. I felt quite relaxed in my room actually in the evening, with the lights low, curtains open but nets closed which dulled all the brightly lit buildings and car headlights.

That's the good news over with. Four nights I stayed here and a few things got on my nerves.

The wifi sucked harder than my Mum's Electrolux (vacuum cleaner). The Fern claims itself to be a business hotel, so bad wifi is pretty unacceptable for such a place. Wifi on my mobile was bearable, but laptop? No chance!

I didn't rate breakfast. What's coffee? What's tea? What is THAT! Nothing was labelled. And how can you get toast wrong? The bread was bland, the chocolate muffin was bland, The vanilla milkshake had bits in it that weren't vanilla seeds (dirty glass).

My room fridge tried it's best to fight with the ac unit. Because its shut in a cupboard (I could barely open it and only from the bottom), this caused the fridge to give off quite a lot of heat, the contents weren't that cold either, thanks to this.

Laundry was too expensive – 4 shirts, 1 trouser & one shorts for Rs650. Saved a bit by not tipping (had to go down to reception to ask for my items back). Also on laundry, although the 2 guys that collected my stuff were polite, I can't see the ladies appreciating them taking everything out of the bag to seperate and count then and there.. yuck!!

The toilet seat didn't fit, the first time I sat on it, I thought I was going to fall off!

Wouldn't go...

If you are expecting decent (not even great which usually good hotels provide), this is not the place.|Rooms were too small- just a little bigger than the ibis. That’s something I can still manage with.||The service in their restaurant is simply aweful, I checked in at 8;30 pm in the night and went to restaurant at 8:50 pm for dinner but it was full.|Can’t fault them for this as the restaurant is actually very small, can’t accommodate more than 50 people.|Then I Valle room service and was told since Restaurant is full, I should order or come down stairs for dinner around 10 pm.|When I told him that I am tired and hungry, the staff on the other side maintained he can’t do much about him. I then requested him if he can call me when he finds a table available and he refused stating that they are overworked hence I should come/call at 10 to check.|This was disappointing and I ordered food from Zomato. |Something similar happened in the morning for breakfast when I went downstairs, it was full and I asked them when can I get the table; & I was told that I need to wait & see for myself. I asked if I can serve myself and take my plate to my room and they refused.|So I was left with no option to simply leave without having breakfast.|At the time of checkout, the gentleman at the counter asked “any consumptions from the mini-bar” and o replied in negative and then he called his housekeeping team to verify my claim which to me was a bit annoying. |They were making other guests who were checking out with me fill the feedback form and the guest manager “Choturam” asked me about my experience and I narrated him the whole experience. I liked the hotel. I would have given it 5 stars but I dont think provide enough complimentary water. I was given 2 bottles for my room. The price was really cheap and the hotel is very modern and very comfortable. The room is spacious the toilet bathroom is a bit cramped but it's a good use of space. The show has a blind which when pulled up had views of the bedroom and the surrounding area if the curtains are open! There is a safe in the room. The bathroom has a hari dryer and soap, shampoo, body wash and lotion are provided. The tv has a few english movie channels you can watch if you dont want to venture out. There is a pool on the roof with a bar. The hotel is around 30 minutes walk from the old city and there is a mall5 minutes walk away. The mall has a supermarket, which can allow you to stock up water and snacks! There is a spa. I had the ayurvedic massage for 60 minutes. It was good. I paid around 2000 rupees after a discount and taxes. I thought it was really good value. I didnt have breakfast included but I did try the breakfast buffet. It was an extra 470 rupees. There is a good selection of indian and western breakfast items. I also had dinner at the hotel as I was not well. I asked them to make me something off menu and they were more than happy to do so I would definitely come back if in Jaipur again.

Here are some pros & cons ✅🚫 The view from our room was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were clean and well maintained and our stay was comfortable. However, there are a few pros and cons you must look into before you decide to stay at the fern residency, jaipur. PROS:✅ -Hotel location is perfect. Main attractions are within 3-5kms. -Rooms are clean and well maintained. - There 's a terrace bar open till midnight so you can just chill at your hotel without going anywhere. - The swimming pool at the terrace and the restaurant/bar has an absolutely amazing view both at day and night. - The staff is courteous. Cons: 🚫 - The service is not up to the mark. Toiletries, slippers, iron, etc was missing in the room. And was not available promptly after calling. - The restaurant they have at the ground floor is quite small , so you might face crowd at the breakfast. - The breakfast served every day offers almost the same menu daily (2-4 things are changed but the sides arw mostly the same). I liked it on the first day but then couldn't bare it and had to eat outside. - Only two water 500 ml bottles per day are complimentary. Overlooking the cons, my stay here was decent.
