PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL.

Accessibility - First the hotel indeed offers a great view of the meadow, but they are perched atop a hillock with just a mud track connecting the hotel and the road. They offer an ATV for pick up, and as and when guests want to come down or go up. But that is limited to the availability of the driver and the vehicle. We had to wait ten minutes out in the open at the evening, as there were other guests waiting in the queue. My only submission is in case this is an unavoidable feature, please mention it to the guests. While booking they said, that the hotel is very close to the Gondola centre. In reality it is two kilometers and a standard cab charges eight hundred rupees. This has been withheld carefully in multiple conversations with the hotel authorities.

Room Type - From the outside, the hotel looks wonderful, especially in the evening. But once you step in, it feels cramped and overstuffed. In order to maximize revenue, rooms are squeezed in wherever possible, with zero consideration of the impact it can have on the guests privacy. There is one room 302, which leads through the dining hall. Both the rooms near the reception are almost open to public thoroughfare. One doesn't deserve this after paying 12k. Rooms are extremely crammed. For a superior room category, there is no place in the room for luggage. There are no cupboards for keeping the belongings.

Hygiene and amenities - Room heaters are closed at their will. When asked, their standard response is that, it is alternatively switched on and off every two hours. In reality, they switch it off at eight pm, and do not switch on till morning. Essentially, in the cracking cold, the room heating system is switched off. There is no exhaust in the washroom. The shower adjustment between hot and cold does not work. Again, not what one expects after paying 12.5k per room per night.

Basic Accountability - This is the icing on the cake. As I was checking out, I asked for the GST bill. The staff at hotel said, they can't. I contacted the person I paid the amount to. She flatly said that it is not possible for them to give GST bill. In my limited understanding, this is...

This hotel is a DISASTER! I would give it negative stars if I could. They lied to me about everything and ruined my trip. Here are some of the reasons why you should NEVER stay here:

Accessibility: This hotel is not suitable for anyone who values their health and safety. To reach the hotel from the road, you have to climb a steep and slippery slope. It’s like trekking in the Himalayas, but without any guide or equipment. They don’t have any proper arrangement to transport guests from the base point. They told me they had ATV vehicles, but they were nowhere to be seen. I had to drag my luggage and my elderly parents up the hill. It was exhausting and dangerous.

Heating Issues: This hotel is not suitable for anyone who values their comfort and warmth. Their heater was not working in -9 degrees Celsius. It was freezing cold in the room. I complained to the staff 10 times, but they kept lying to me that it was working. They didn’t care about my well-being at all. They just wanted to save money on electricity.

Hot Water: This hotel is not suitable for anyone who values their hygiene and health. They didn’t have any hot water facility. I couldn’t take a shower or wash my face. I felt dirty and sick. The cold water made me shiver and sneeze. It was miserable.

Guest Relations: This hotel is not suitable for anyone who values their dignity and respect. The staff and management were rude, unprofessional, and arrogant. They didn’t apologize or try to solve any of the issues. They blamed me for choosing their hotel. They told me to check out if I was not happy. They had no manners or ethics.

Overall Experience: This hotel is not suitable for anyone who values their money and time. I wasted a lot of money on this hotel. I got nothing in return. I didn’t enjoy my trip at all. I was stuck in a dirty, cold, and noisy room. I regretted booking this hotel. It was the worst decision of my life.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This hotel is a NIGHTMARE and a SCAM. You will hate it and regret it. Avoid it at all costs. This hotel deserves to be closed down and sued. It is the worst hotel...

I recently visited gulmarg and one of the main reasons for my excitement to reach this place was this hotel that we chose after a lot of research and looking at the excellent reviews but the picture given on site is very far from the truth. Although the resort offers a great view from a hill top , reaching the place is an ordeal as there is no proper road , all it has is a muddy steep stretch leading to the entrance which has to be covered by ATVs which are available as and when they have enough people to go up and down. You cannot reach the main meadow downhill at your own will or suited time. Another major disappointment is the distance from the gondola that they so proudly advertise to be only 1 km away which is a big lie!! The gondola is almost 3-4 km away which has to be travelled in the wee hours of the morning to get hold of the gondola ticket to avoid lengthy ques . Also you have to shell out an extra 1500 rupees to do the whole to and fro trip to the gondola. We had booked the rooms at rupees 12000 per night which is not at all worth the money as the rooms allotted to us was very small and just next to the reception causing disturbance all through the day and night. The room temperature was not maintained in the evening and all through the night and trust me it can get really cold indoors depending on the weather conditions. Though some of the staff were cordial but when we expressed our grievances they were not ready to take any feedback saying “ ye Gulmarg hai yahan Aisa hi hota hai”! I guess I have travelled to remotest of places as well as some of the big cities and tourist places nowhere have I faced such arrogance! I personally feel since Gulmarg has been a tourist attraction since ages the main attraction being the gondola and the lower meadows the hotel should have thought about the convenience of the guests and not only the view that it offers and hence boasts such an inflated price for it, the services...

3.5 stars — only because NO central heating, which is absolutely essential in cold weather. We had a pleasant stay at Gulmarg Ski Hill Resort! The staff were warm, polite, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. Their exceptional hospitality was the highlight of our visit and made us feel genuinely welcome. The rooms are spacious, and the panoramic views from the hilltop are stunning. However, in winter, the windows are covered with plastic for insulation, which obstructs the views shown in the photos. This is practical but worth noting for those expecting clear scenery. The major drawback was the heating policy, set by the owners, who were nowhere to be seen on the property. Central heating was only turned on for 1-2 hours in the evening when the hotel wasn’t fully occupied. Despite the staff’s efforts to provide small heaters and warm blankets, the rooms remained cold, and we often had to wear jackets indoors. Another consideration is the resort’s location. It’s accessible only by ATVs provided by the hotel, as the steep, rocky slope makes it impossible to drive up. While this wasn’t an issue for us, it could pose challenges for families with elderly members or young children, so clear communication about this from the hotel or travel agents would be helpful. Despite these drawbacks, I would return if the heating policy were improved. The stunning location, spacious rooms, and the amazing hospitality of the staff make this resort worth considering.
