Hotel Little Silver — Hotel in Jammu and Kashmir

Little Silver is a small boutique property nested among tall trees. It is located away from the market and on the other bank of Lidder river. You can see the water flowing from the hotel but can't reach there easily by walk. Its an ideal location if you want to stay away from hustle bustle of the market and have a car to drop you. You can have a refreshing walk though wilderness of pine and deodar forest or sit in the garden with a cup of tea. |There are about 8 rooms most of them are specious one. Rooms are completely carpeted, with king size beds. Attached bath has geyser and all amenities. The size of the toilet is a bit small though. Also toilet floor is at a substantial height compared room floor, this may be inconvenient for elderly and children. You need to climb steep steps to reach your room. These small issues will melt away with courteous behaviour of the staff. There is regular power cut but light etc. has generator/inverter backup. |The manager is always available over phone and also in person most of the time. Their staffs are very courteous and helpful especially a young boy named Mudaswar. The cook will prepare testy food and cooking style can be modulated as per your choice. We had planned a trip pivoting around Srinagar, Pahalgam, Sonmarg and Gulmarg. This was our stop for rest at Pahalgam which is a beautiful place and to support it’s beauty was this amazing, cozy, homely resort. It has a perfect location situated on the slope of the mountain adobed in sky-reaching pines with an astonishing view of the Lidder river along with the constant soothing sound of the waterfalls made by the glacier. We booked 3 rooms and each room was cozy due to its cathedral roof and its wooden build. The bedrooms, washrooms are clean and tidy and especially the beds are neat and clean. The beds also have heaters installed in them when you experience cold nights. The staff was hardworking, cooperative, welcoming and homely. Surprisingly, we were supplied with hot water even when the electricity was out. Shoukatji is the receptionist who showed us our rooms. Muntazirji carried our luggages and were there to help us whenever we needed it. Javaidji made delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and Mohammedji politely served us the food and kept us good company incase we needed more food. The location / ambience is great. A peaceful oasis. The river is nearby but down a steep road but nice to walk. The staff , especially Muddasar , are extremely welcoming / helpful & nice. |Rooms are good sized . I had the downstairs room which didn’t have much WIFI Signal. Although I had booked two rooms and requested them to be adjacent they were on different floors - so a bit disappointing. . The bathroom was raised from the bedroom so maybe difficult for older guests. The bathroom was not in a good state with broken toilet seat and very hot water coming very slowly. |Whilst coming if you follow google maps it will take you somewhere else so best to get directions from the hotel. |A few niggles but overall a good stay made better by the staff...
