Worst experience. My family and my friend's family went there to have lunch during early 2023. It was bitter cold outside. Ambience was ok. Food was average but price was too high. Worst part is after the adults finished eating the children were still eating the food. Few customers came in and the person sitting in cash counter wanted us to leave. We told him that the children haven't eaten but he said one person stay and others leave'. How can the children eat in a table alongside strangers. They got scared and we came out. While opinions on Mughal Darbar seem to vary, I wouldn't personally call it a terrible restaurant. Yes, the prices are definitely high, but it's important to remember that everything in Kashmir tends to be more expensive as it's a tourist destination.

Kashmiri food is generally non-spicy, so for those who crave a more flavorful and spiced meal, North Indian restaurants might be a better choice. I enjoyed all the Kashmiri dishes I tried because I approached them with the expectation of their unique flavor profile.

Great local cuisine, conveniently accessible.

The Kashmiri Waazwan thaali consisting of Rogan josh, Goshtaba, Yakhni, and Rista were delectable. It came with a starter plate as well with delicacies like tabak maaz, seekh kebab, etc. Found it to be value for money at Rs 1,400.

Recommended if you are a tourist in Pahalgam and looking to try local cuisine ij the town center.

Staff was friendly and the ambience average. Toilet was a bit of mess with a basin that did not have working tap.
