I would not even want to rate them 1 but Google don't not give me an option of marking them 0.
After a long drive on a sunny day, I stopped at this place for a cup of tea and for some evening snacks but turned out to be a pathetic experience.
After entering this place I had to wait for almost 20min for some one to come and attend me.
After 20 min, One Hindi speaking waitress comes Handover the menu and asks for my order.
Menu had all varieties of coffee and tea options but not a normal tea or coffee. When I asked she says they do.... have normal tea and coffee both, when I asked why it wasn't in the menu she just blabbered something in Hindi which I could not understand.
I ordered for 3 cups of tea and 1 French fries and I don't know how hard my order was She had to confirm 3 times cos she could not understand Kannada.
Most of the hotels offer water but in my case after waiting for 39 min no one offered for a cup of water. Later I called another waiter and asked for normal hot water. But this guy comes with a warm bottled water which costed 20rps. When I asked why is he offering this when I did not order, he could not understand me and after a very hard conversation with this guy he said they don't give normal water at all and any customers who wants water should buy and drink. I felt this was terrible and I again asked him for a normal water and not bottled water but this guy could not understand Kannada and started blabbering in Hindi, when I asked him wat was he blabbering he started forcing me to talk in Hindi which I declined to do so. Later it got escalated and I asked for someone who can understand me, but this restaurant had no one who could understand Kannada. After arguing for 10 min another waiter enters and says the normal water in this restaurant is bad (Karab was the word he used in Hindi) and hence they don't offer normal water to customers. If their normal water is so bad, I don't no wat water they are using for cooking purposes.
Later owner of this property named Arjun steps in and apologizes and say I don't have to pay for bottled water and said they have Kannada speaking waiters but went fit their lunch which could not believe. But the point was , I wanted normal hot water which I could not get from this place and I was forced to talk in Hindi and later was forced to drink the bottled water. But anyways the point is, this is a pathetic place. 1: They don't have normal tea or coffee in their menu and their charges as per menu vs bill does not match (eg. French fries cost as per menu is 180 but they charged me 183 rps,Tea price I could not validate cos it was not on the menu at all) They don't have single Kannada speaking staffs apart from the owner and their staffs are forcing customers to talk in Hindi. Their restrooms are at atmost worst condition and not safe for ladies/kids. They don't have normal drinking water and should pay for even a drop of water or atleast that's what they expect customers to do cos their property water is Karab(As told by one of their waiter) This place has lot of flies...
Read moreWe have planned for a day trip from Bangalore and chose to drive Shivanasamudram. While returning back through Kanakpura road, we found this restaurant - Chikoo Farm Inn, span across more than 3 acres of land.
Speaking with the restaurant manager, we came to know that its a resort in making but currently only the restaurant is operational. It has a road-side parking spot with a security manning it. Manager and stuff were very friendly and courteous. The wash room and the hand wash area are beautifully made amid lush green and need a special mention.
Surprisingly the restaurant has options of Italian and Indian cuisine. We went for normal indian food inclusive of roti / daal/ paneer. Food was very tasty and charge was nominal.
Its a beautiful family restaurant and must try while returning from Shivanasamudram / Hogenakkal / Chunchi falls. One point to mention is currently no air conditioning is available and spur of mosquito in...
Read moreLooking at other reviews, I was a bit skeptical about this place, but decided to give a try, while returning from my trip to Chunchi falls. As almost all of the other reviewers agreed, this place is scenic, well maintained and have really clean washrooms.
Food : We had roti, chicken Hyderabadi, noodles, dal fry and egg masala. The food quantity was good and 6 of us managed with just 3 main dishes. Also it was tasty. I really dont understand why quite a few people gave 1 star for it, without explaining anything in detail.
Service : We didn't had any issues and the service guys were courteus and did a decent job. Once again, i found many 1 star rating for them, which is questionable.
I would definitely come back here if I am passing by Kanakpura Road and I honestly feel most of the negative feedback for this well kept and decent...
