Hotel Dwarawata — Hotel in Karnataka

The hotel staff and their pricing seemed to be very suspicious. I made compete online payment online via Agoda a couple of weeks before the stay. On the day of stay the lady receptionist handles me the slip that says, I need to pay the same amount again as the earlier payment I did was only 50% advance.🤷🏽‍♂️ I was shocked and held my ground as I had the confirmation copy that the full payment is already done. They made us(myself & wife) stay waiting for an hour, until I called Agoda service desk stationed in UK. (It was an international call) Only then the staff allowed us to check in. Other short comings There's no car parking, we need to park outside. The staff can not speak Kannada/English they insist us speak in Hindi. This is bad for hospitality industry not knowing the local language, had to struggle getting services as speaking Hindi is not so easy for the locals. -There was no, water bottles. Had to ask and get them. The TV did not have the subscription, had to call housekeeping multiple times get it recharged. While my wife was taking bath, the water suddenly stopped. Upon speaking to the lady receptionist over intercom, she said, she would send over the person to get fixed and disconnected the call. She seem to be lacking minimum common sense - that one can't enter the bathroom while other is taking bath. While checking out the next day, the receptionist (male) told us to wait till the room is checked. (Again, Nor in Kannada or English, but Hindi) We had to drive 8 hours, and we waited couple of minutes! Room checking is not done, we had to insist him multiple times that we have to drive a long way, that's when they let us go.

I don't know it's the problem with the staff or the management, the experience could have been better, provided with excellent infrastructure, sky bar and amazing restaurant. Wish they improve on...

This stay is located on the main road towards Dharwad city. Although it is bit far from the main city but manageable to travel from. Stayed here for about two days 13th and 14th of August.

Rooms are pretty decent, look wise. I was staying at 3rd floor and the lock for room had issues. We had to call the management every single time to get into the room, because the card which was provided to us wasn't working and the door was in pretty bad shape. We literally had to shut the door and open the door kicking! Toiletries were limited and decent. Bathroom did have 2 towels. Bathroom did not have bucket and mugs! Toilet seat was broken and it wasn't clean at all. No hot water supply unless you call the management and report about it. If you're lucky you might get warm water. The room where I was staying had no room service phone! So had to jump to friends room to order anything! Please be careful while carrying heavy luggage. When I was checking into the hotel, the lift wasn't working and was told it's under maintenance. It was pretty rude that nobody helped in carrying the luggage from management side. Had to climb 3 floors with luggage bag. We went for breakfast around 10am in the morning and was told that there's no breakfast but an exception was made and they provided delicious food! The omlette, Poha, sandwiches and coffee was very very good.

One of the worst experiences of hotel. Very unclean bathrooms, the furniture was torn, not working room keys ( had to change 3 rooms because of key not working..and got late to the event we came for by 2 hours). They take forever for even checkin though pre-booked. The manager Arthi is extremely rude and Says door sensor not working is not their problem, & every other hotel has problem... shows complete unprofessional behaviour... Just because we complained about the mismanagement she talks ill about us in Hindi to her colleague thinking we don't understand the language.. only the food from Asoka restaurant beyond 12 Noon is very good tastewise (rating of 1 star only for this, else would have given negative rating) . Even breakfast is not good, with only 2-3 options that too not complementary for the exorbitant room charges... Will not recommend this hotel due to rude and inefficient front desk and unclean /...
