Hotel Mayura Riverview — Hotel in Karnataka

Choose the place depending on what you wish. Below are certain things that I usually consider and my feedback.

Location/Ambience: Exotic Location by the River. The place is calm and off the main road. You can feel the difference in the atmosphere when you approach the place. The temperature goes down, due to the heavy green trees shielding you from direct sun. The place has an approach to the river and you see the Cauvery river flowing calmly, stand there in the river knee deep or as you are confident and get a complimentary fish spa.

Rooms : The rooms are spacious and they have deluxe rooms and cottages. not sure of the change in Amenities, we chose for a deluxe room. Decently maintained room, with a balcony or a sit out that opens into the terrace from where you can view the river clearly. Caution: Beware of the Monkeys. Cons: The door locks are poorly maintained or damaged and substitute pad lock provided. Room Service never answered the phone during our stay. No Menu available in room. Reception also is difficult to reach, Out of too may attempts, I was able to talk to someone only 2 times.

Food : Not Great for the taste buds. First day we had to wait for over 20 mins just for someone to take the order. While we waited for the order, 2 families vacated their tables, as none showed up to take the orders. Too little options available. Pros- Drive up to the main road, right across you have Hallimane(Veg), that has a great variety of food.

Overall: I felt the place is great for stay, but the resources have not been maintained properly. They are seriously short of staff, but the available staff are very friendly and ready to help. The Dining setup on the river bank is not maintained and have cobwebs, the chairs are too old and have not been replaced. If you want to spend some relaxed time and enjoy the flow of the river it is good, but for good food options you must drive to...

The best point about this place is the location; its right beside the river. The rooms are decent. We chose a AC deluxe double room and it was facing the riverside. They also have a small children's play area and also coracle ride(on chargeable basis) The room was of decent size and was furnished neatly with TV, double bed, seating chairs, night stands, mirror, cupboard and lamps. The balcony had additional chairs and table. The bathroom was big and neat with all supplies like soap, towels etc. It also had a geyser for hot water.

However, the aisle outside the room was not that attractive and felt a bit downmarket. However, that would apply only for AC deluxe rooms and not for Cottages which are slightly away.

They claim to have a Wifi on the property but the reception wasn't that good. The biggest letdown was the lack of service. They had a intercom but neither were the details mentioned nor did it work. Morever, when I visited the reception a couple of times, I could not find anyone there, so the service was bad. Having visited KSTDC hotels before, I didn't have too much expectations of service, but nevertheless I was disappointed.

They have a restaurant serving veg/non-veg food but we visited only for breakfast where-in we had Omlet and bread. Another problem with property is presence of lots of monkeys around. With the restaurant open on the sides, a monkey could easily attack the food and took it away as well. Moreover, I see some fully open seating area as well and I'm not sure who would choose to sit there given the monkey menace.

The check-in and check-out procedures were quick. Ample of parking available.

This hotel is situated on the banks of river Kaveri and surrounded by lush foliage on the Kaveri River, this low-key resort is 4 km from Srirangapatna temple. The hotel offers rooms that have free Wi-Fi and cable TV at an affordable price. The rooms are upgraded with air-conditioning and some provide balconies with a view towards Kaveri river and Srirangapatna town at a distance. Cottages with river views are also available. Room service is available 24/7. Parking is free. There's a casual restaurant/bar, plus a terrace with a thatched roof and river views. A kids' playground, gardens, and river rafting are offered.

The restaurant-bar is located just by the river and offers a dining experience with a view of the river. The hotel and restaurant is maintained by Government and hence the food prices are affordable. The food is of good quality and tasty as well. Few rice items do not come with the long-grain rice like other places but come with a different type of local rice. One thing to dislike about the restaurant is that the delivery is extremely slow. Waiters seem disinterested in serving the people but the taste and the quality make up to it. There are a wide variety of dishes for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The food is not spicy but can be asked to make spicy to go well with the drinks. The restaurant serves wine, beer and hot beverages that are slightly higher in price than outside prices. The dining area with the thatched roof is one of the attractions during the night to have dinner by the river side.
